Nope. They have this weird rival sort of thing going... kinda. Griffith pretty much turns out to be the biggest asshole this side of creation. Gutts is understandably angry. Tell me, how do you think Gutts handles being angry?

It's a matter of interpretation. Personally I tend to think that Griffith is probably bisexual, and Guts is probably straight.

There are people who will swear up, down, left, right, and center that Griffith is straight, and you can read it that way if you like, but you kind of have to willfully ignore a lot of stuff (especially from the manga).

Not much interpretation needed. Griffith does whatever necessary to gain power. He doesn't seem to really form emotional attachments at all.

Guts whats Griffth to respect him as an equal. There's nothing to even hint at Guts being gay though. He's clearly attracted to Casca.

There are many hints throughout the manga at Griffith being attracted to Guts, but it isnt so obvious for Guts. It is obvious though that he admires and cares about Griffith more than he does anyone else ( so much that he leaves Caska for a chance at being closer to Griffith). Its definetly arguable that they wouldve been lovers if their relationship had the oppurtunity to develop that way.
