  • Four pplz have digicel phones =P

  • there is no exploitation going on here. they used what people will gravitate towards . i am sure if they had used some tough grown back adults, people would have taken a second look at it.

  • Ok not a Jamaican..why is this controversial?

  • Haven't the slightest

  • Hey there this ad is the best I have seen in a longtime from JA. Keep up the good work and to all who talking bout exploitation of kids tell them they need to live in the US and Canada because kids dominate all the big company ad Chrysler, GM, Food companies, government, airlines. Kudos to you guys and keep doing what you do. I hope Claro will give you guys more work to do for them.

  • shut up about exploitation. Child actors are not exploited, and look at that ad for Evian with the babies...is that exploitation too? They are telling their parents to get a claro...and with a lot of children taking public trans and walking home etc...they need a phone!! Everyone loves children! This ad is cute! Get a LIFE!!

  • How r the children being exploited? i'm sure there has been ads where digicel used kids, then no one raised the question of kids being exploited!!! its jus because claro kinda breaking their hegemony in telecommunications, what they should do is invest in utility (light and water) and break jps n nwc's monopoly!!! n arrogant badmind ppl should stop tlk bout how d ppl dem a exploit d pickney dem!!!

  • I was wondering the same thing. I dont see any kids being exploited. I am sure if it was there kids they would not be saying that. Some people are just jealous that is all. Everyone knows that using kids is a market and commercial strategy. There are kids in primary and prep schools with cell phones. What is wrong if the commercial is targeting kids and teen? The world we are in is very digital and technical with technological advancements. Ape and Cave days have long been gone. Run wid it !!!

  • people u all need to understand marketing and target audience, the add has nothing to do with children using cell phones and talking late at night, the song is catchy, everybody is singing it , secondly this is not the first that children have been used in an advertisements, are all children exploited then?

  • How are they being exploited? I'm sure their parents were there and approved. kiss teet! This is a very good commercial and nothing is wrong with children having cell phones. Cell phone useage can be limited and restricted in a number of ways by responsible parents and adults.

This ad is on point...Digicel has no response. This will be the most memorable commercial for the Christmas season, hands down!!

  • @wristkiss

In this day and age it isnt strange to see children leaving prep school chatting on their cell phones. No more begging calls from the teacher, they just take out their little nokia's and call mommy.

I know a 9 year old child who sang in the ad, and they got a sizeable $8000 and a cell phone! Wont take them through college but they have gotten more than I this Christmas...

On a serious note, this ad is a WIN. Digicel cant compete lol Dont even remember their ad...

  • digicel to de werl!!!! although claro gi a brand new nokia E71 fi mi ole BB pearl

  • I don't see anything controversial about this ad. Politician love kiss up people pickney when election a gwaan to get votes, dont hear anyone complaining.

  • LOL!

  • claro ave money..BUT DEM CAA REPLACE DIGICEL!!!

  • Digicel laughing to themselves how much they have the Jamaican ppl fooled, making tonnes of money of u guys. U really think they give a crap about unu?

  • CLARO A DI BOSS!!!!

  • Claro has the money but Digicel has the ppl's hearts. Still the Claro ad sell off!

  • well according to the children claro care for me and you lol digicel naa tell me say dem care! lemme hush with my sprint in ny

  • The competition is turning out to be good for the customers, no more monopoly in the cell phone market digicel was too expensive far too long and I always wonder why digicel charge it's customers for digicel to digicel calls.

  • not controversial at all, just a cheap market strategy using children.

  • digicel a di boss!! claro a fool!! bout 'digi-sell it yet'... me tell dem 'claro que no'

  • An intetelligent person will c the difference between the two companies in terms of technology and rates n choose wisely.

  • If u limit what is an intelligent choice to technology and rates, then that is well... quite limited. Tell Claro to do something for the poor ppl in S. America instead of milking them. At least Digicel gives back a fraction of what it pillages in developping states!

  • claro mi sey

  • I think they are trying to say that Claro cares more than Digicel.

  • whats so controversial about this

  • That's what I'm thinking. I don't see anything wrong with it.

  • this a di most week advertising ting mi c....claro seh it free every day but di fine print dem seh a different ting

  • Claro is still the cheaper n better network n NOTHING is completely free with Digicel.

    Check ur facts

  • DUH!!...deh do dat fi get d customersl...but DIGICEL TO D WORL!!!

  • free international calls, pow in ur face digicel!!
