@seblasian ik heb niks tegen blanken in het algemeen, alleen tegen blanken die doen alsof de surinamers/marokkanen/turken etc. niks voor Nederlands sport hebben betekend. maar dat begrijp je vast wel.

trouwens, Tuur is een grootheid in New York. Kluivert in Spanje en Italie.

Eerlijk gezegd nooit van Tuur gehoord.. ik ben een grote boksfan maar ik wist niet dat NL nog grootheden had.

@seblasian dat was eerder kinderachtig doen op een kinderachtig bericht van een ander. Maar een groot boksfan en Regilio Tuur klinkt als chinees voor je? :P Ik zat trouwens verkeerd, er zijn 2 boksers die onder het Nederlandse vlag wereldkampioen zijn geworden, zoals gezegd Tuur en Don Diego Poeder. Maar op het moment heeft Nederland idd geen grootheden. In mijn ogen ligt de schuld bij de Nederlandse Boks Bond (NBB).

@g2unit Tja ik weet niet, ik heb honderded wedstrijden gekeken op allerlei klasses, maar je komt op wereldtitel-niveau geen Nederlandse namen tegen. Ik ging er altijd van uit dat dit alleen zo is vanwege onze kickbox-cultuur. Jammer genoeg, want ik vind boksen toch een stuk mooier.

@g2unit K heb de namen even nagezocht.. Poeder had de WBU titel, daar wordt je niet echt wereldberoemd mee. Tuur had de IBF titel, daar ga ik zeker een paar wedstrijden van kijken!

@seblasian hahah nee ik ben er ook later achter gekomen dat Poeder won. Maar Tuur ben ik mee opgegroeid bijna. Ik boks op zelfde boksschool waar hij begon en woon in hetzelfde plaatsje. Hij werd in 1992 Europees kampioen en in 1994 Wereldkampioen in Rotterdam. Flitsende rechter. Misschien ken je hem van de verhalen dat hij zijn vrouwen zou mishandelen :P

@g2unit Een beetje voor mijn tijd.. of nouja ik kijk bijna alleen oude wedstrijden maar je snapt wat ik bedoel. Lelijk van die mishandelingen, de beste boksers hebben helaas meestal van die tragische trekjes. Trainen er trouwens veel profs op jullie school? Ik zit op een bescheiden clubje in Groningen, was altijd wel benieuwd hoe dat is op de grotere scholen.

@seblasian Schildkamp is niet echt een grote boksschool, maar wel 1 met een grote naam in de Nederlandse boksscene. sinds Tuur zijn ze gestopt met wedstrijdbokser, maar sinds een jaar of 2 weer begonnen met een aantal jeugdbokser op niveau te krijgen. nu zijn er al een stuk of 12 boksers (-20) met grote potentie. Er trainen nog wel wedstrijdbokser uit de tijd van Tuur, maar die zijn wat ouder. 40-45.

I'd like to add that Badr and Saki don't have better technique from eachother, their technique is just different. Saki is probably faster and has better low kicks though, and did amazingly vs. Overeem with just one hand.

i met saki in the airport last week and the guy is really cool and down to earth, he's also a beast, tough guy. he has the  best technique in k1, i think everyone should agree on that.

@fokojan Well, he is good fighter, no doubt about that, bu to say he is has the best technique is a bit exaggerated ! I was thinking about you saying how tough he looked and I can't even imagine how would Bob Sapp look :-)

Peter Aerts' body is looking fantastic for his age.

Gokhan doesn't twist his hips into his round kicks and looses efficiency. He also seems not very agile with his high kicks and looses speed. But he is a really good fighter.

What I don't understand is that all these 2nd generation immigrants fight for the country their parents left in search of a better future for their children.
