David Reavis just emailed me some old black and white pictures from the concert. I started digging around on the net about the concert and found your video. As I watched I thought I recognized some folks. Sho' nuff!
I was there, it was crazy... this shows the best of it... they ran out of food, and water was scarce which was a good thing cause there weren't many toilets - peeps were bathing in the river, we walked 20 mi up the mt (rode on the bumpers on the way down, a motorcycle group took over "policing" the place and sponsored the wet T-shirt contests, Scruggs and Flatt flew in a played, we camped at a school in town (safer ;-), rumor was a biker killed a guy over a "chick"... stuff like that. TWTDMF

Hurricane Belle was her name and was almost as powerful as the Music enjoyed @ STOMPIN 76
I was there and have been looking for memorabelia the last few years to share with my kids. This video is great, and boy does it bring back memories and flashbacks, LOL. Great music, people, atmosphere oh yeah the moonshine wasn't bad either.
I thought it went on for five days though, as we showed up early and stayed late. Like 12 of us drove there in a 51 ford econoline from boston, on the way back home with the 8 track blasting music thru the pioneers attempting to drown (Continued)
i was born in galax, spent my childhood there. My parents still live there, but ive moved to roanoke. Stompin 76 took place 3 years before i was born. It was way back in the country near a place called Pot rock, near the New River, at the foot of Stoots mountain correct? in the summer i come back and go fishing there alot, Dad was telling me about it, and ive looked for footage of it for years, Thank you for posting this!
this footage is awesome. all of you who were the right age in the 60's & 70's are LUCKY. you experienced the best that the country will ever have as far as music, motorcycles, cars ect ect....

I camped with a bunch of other people just outside the cemetery on the hill not too far from the stage. . 200,000 people, no cops and three days of great music, women, and good weather, Who could ask for more.? If you have more footage post it when you can.
