Those are some nice gems but I was wondering why keep them confined in a glass case and never interact with there effects. I wonder if any one gets to experience their effect. however its an outstanding collection of rarities.

I live in NC and travel to Tucson occasionally but have never seen the Gem Show. Mostly because I know nothing about gems. Maybe I'll see you there in 2010.

These minerals are awesome! I never get to see specimens like these in person... The only minerals that are of comparable value and quality in my collection might be the few Benitoite specimens I own (gem crystals - to one inch on a specimen), my lovely Bixbite on marix (2 half-inch blood red xtls!), my killer Cavansite (about half a dozen balls to an inch and half on matrix), an inch tall South African Rhodochrosite "wheat bundle" xtl on matrix, and a nice Columbian Emerald...

One of the best reasons to see these in person, great teaser! Too bad the lighting in the Convention Center is so mercurial and poorly color balanced.
