My scalp is so dry with so many flakes...THE WORST. if I go in the shower and scrub the hell out of my head and get out. When the water dries from my head there it is again..just more flakes. nothing works.
No. I have the driest scalp in the world. Before my dread loc venture, I was ok at maintaining my scalp because I had a low fade. But now, I'm unable to wash my hair as often because my locs are baby locs. They're not mature yet. Ughhh. I just want to cut them off sometime.
Individuals with Scalp Psoriasis are half of the psoriasis population. The harshness of flaking ranges from petite dandruff-like flakes to plaques with thick, grey scales.Scalp psoriasis often extends past the hairline down onto the face, and on the backs of the ear. Severe scaling and flaking from psoriasis cause most psoriasis victims to experience embarrassment and emotional distress. The American Institute of Advanced Medicine offers treatment for scalp psoriasis and other skin disorders
I have the same issue too. My scalp was in great shape until recnetly I had a relaxer and used little base. OH boy - that brought the flakes right back. I I wash 3 times a week. Once a week I use JOJOBA oil from Trader joes as a treatment followed by a Cholestrol treamtent. Ive also started a scalp exfoliator.
My husband has suffered from this for years and we couldn't help him very much....but we finally found a natural product from Vitacost (dot) com...called, "Jason dandruff relief shampoo." It contains MSM, Neem Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Colloidal Sulfur and Rosemary...ingredients that are great for dry or sensitive scalp. The "Dandfruff Shampoo" label is deceptive...because these ingredients and very natural, healing and you'll be amazed! I think it only cost $6.67 on the website....40% off!!
Hi and thank you sooo much for this very simple, simple shampooing technique. Just like you, I have a dry itchy scalp that just won't quit! and just like you said NOT to do, I was doing it.....scratching my scalp as I was washing it, even though it felt good, it left my scalp irritated and even more dry and itchy. So, I have a shampoo by Creme of Nature called "Dry Scalp & Dandruff " shampoo and THIS time I will concentrate on my scalp (I'm not going to scratch it anymore).
No actually some people are just more prone to dry scalp, I used to wash my hair every two weeks because that's how often it got dirty but now I was my hair once a week to keep my scalp moist!
