  • we should all praise the bio shock game series for making gamers fall in love with the classics :D haha

  • U S OF THE GAY

  • I'm watching this because of mafia 2.

  • Check out "Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler" by Antony C. Sutton (as well as his other two "Wall Street" books!

  • polarpawn interesting to think that if all Europe was indeed German now then would it be a great deal different to how it is today. Hitler would have gone and doubtless Nazism waned and proably petered out.

Possible all those people died for little.

The U.K. seems practically controlled by Europe now anyway, with Germany being the major player.

Maybe if we'd have rolled over like the French a world arms race would have been avoided (no Soviet threat as Adolf would have done for them)

  • A good, pure, American Song.

God Bless America, God Bless the soldiers

  • While I favor Kate Smith's version over all others, this one by Harry Kaye w. Joe Loss & His Orchestra is most definitely worth listening to!

  • @indilock The US had little to do with the war in Europe? What history books have you been reading? The massive US cemetaries throughout Europe alone disprove that notion.

  • I thought this was Serj..

  • The best song in Mafia II

  • @isiskrisis

The Americans actually just got all the fame. The real stopping was done by Russia not by some morons landing in France

    @Monopoly907

Germany was fucked the day they decided it would be a great idea to attack Russia in the wintertime

  • @heino1989

... Operation Barbarossa started in June 1941. That's not winter. And they were pretty much fucked anyway by that time because Stalin would have come for them sooner or later.

  • Im sorry, jjw, but you are an idiot. The americans entered the war in 41 with a europe first policy, even though japan attacked us. The soviets and americans fought basically the same duration. The only reason the soviets lost more people is because hitler invaded Russia. Don't say americans didn't do as much just because we didn't lose as many people. It really just makes you look like an ignorant ass.

  • do i smell a future in the fallout franchise?

  • The cats in the photo sure know how to keep warm. Those old vacuum tube radios could put out quite a bit of heat.

  • I use to listen to my parents 78rpm record of this song.

  • Now-a-days it's---praise the lord and pass the plate.

  • I believe this was written in a time of need to be encouraged when times were so bad so very bad all we could do was either give up and die or make the best of it. I agree. tis is a great track, almost satirical in a way however in a postmodern world, we can see much more into it now than when the bombs were dropping.

  • plz where i can download MP3 of this???

  • I understand it's context at the time. To hear it now it sounds like this song could be applied to any war. A great little ditty if the Pope ever wanted to start another crusade to the holy land.

  • Don't we all love reading arguements in YouTube comments? I personally think the song was made to be one of those songs that contradicts itself, but that's just me and it really doesn't matter. What does matter is that I enjoy the song for what it is, a good, catchy song.

  • I just looked up the meaning. It's describing a chaplain aboard a plane under fire, who puts down his bible to man the guns himself.

  • Who cares what it's about it has a catchy tune.

  • Can't afford to be a politician.................

  • this has notghing to do with the god of war its saying thank god were alive and lets keep it that way

  • my sermon is my demolition

  • A great classic, thank you for posting. Praise The Lord & Pass The Ammunition!

  • Hn. I like Serj and all... But eh.

  • Rofl, I love these old songs. But come on... Serj Tankian is right when it comes to the hypocrisy of this song

  • The Lord's work can be violent. It's often found in the Bible.

  • our God is a childish and petty God praise be to Him

  • I don't know about you, but that's not MY God.

  • Serj is wrong. This is a WWII song. Turning the other cheek is not the same as standing by while maniacs commit genocide and attempt to enslave an entire continent.

Serj is not a blond Aryan, thus he is actually therefore far better off for the US having beaten the Nazis in WWII. What problems there are with the US, including the insane Bush wars, are nothing compared to what the Nazis would have none globally if the US hadn't stopped them early on.

  • "All it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do NOTHING."

  • Who decides what is evil? Serious question. We had a discussion about this the other night at church.

  • @stickynickel the winner, or the guy who can write lol

  • @isiskrisis lies lies lies, it was the glorious Soviet Union who stopped the fascist, america didnt do anything before they got attacked -44 and then had Soviets already been fighting the nazis since 41.

  • @JJWBHUFUGP who cares? enjoy the music! where where all allies! well while it lasted lol

  • @alonmerlin hmm.. you do have a point

  • @JJWBHUFUGP well what if Germany didn't invade Russia? then where would Britain be? where will all of us be?

  • @Monopoly907

Britain would still be there because Seelöwe was a pipedream and any actual attempt by the nazis to invade it would end in an involuntary swimming lesson to most of the invasion force. Also, Stalin would have eventually knocked at the door anyway, if just to get back his due. The Nazis took some major loans and resource deliveries from the Soviets in late '40/early '41 to keep their economy going and then dclared war instead of paying up.

  • @Magni56 Very true but what if Winston Churchill was killed by the taxi while his visit to New York city?

  • @Monopoly907

Same thing regardless. Hell, even with the Germans literally pressing everything down to friggin' river barges into service, an invasion of England would have ended with the remaining british regulars outnumbering the invasion force 2:1 before you factor in the Home Guard and the carnage Home Fleet would cause in the channel. Seelöwe really was nothing but wishful thinking.

  • @Magni56 so Germany was fucked anyway? No matter what?

  • @Monopoly907

    Pretty much.

  • @Magni56 then my theory was correct. :)

  • @JJWBHUFUGP By that logic, the Soviet Union didn't do anything before they got attacked either. They just got attacked sooner. And, of course, before that happened, they HELPED the Nazis conquer Poland.

  • @fontinau yes i know, they helped the nazis to conquer my homeland, but still, they did waaaay more than america

  • @isiskrisis Yes you hit the nail right on the head

  • @isiskrisis Not to mention the 20 million the Japs raped murdered and tortured to death during the war...

  • @isiskrisis the US didnt stop them early on, they gave GB the means to fight, then came in to finish them off....but i agree with everything else you have said here :)

  • @isiskrisis The US didn't stop the Nazis. That the Germans lost the war was largely due to the millions of Russians who died fighting them and the idiotic attempts at bombing the UK into submission. The US mainly fought against Japan and had little to do with the war in Europe, except when the war was won.

  • @isiskrisis The US didn't stop Germany. • @indilock The US involvement with Japan, allowed Stalin to free his troops that he had around eastern Russia due to his fear of them (Russian-Jap where Russia got owned by the much smaller nation over Korea) The US Arsenal of democracy policy, coupled with US involvement in Africa that help cut German oil supplies and the contribution of the US fledgling air force tipped the scales for the Allies. The US didn't do it all, but had it set it out. Europe would be all German now.

  • @isiskrisis you think the US stopped the Nazis? Lol, it was Russia, with US, Canadian, Austrialian and UK help.

  • @Griesmayer But you must realize, if it wasn't for the Americans, the Russian Communist filth would have kept attacking Europe and would have tried to take all of Europe over.

Russia wasn't a good guy, they were Evil. They even made deals with Germany, if Germany hadn't betrayed them, we would have probably been fighting them during WW2. It's America that kept them at bay so that the Iron Curtain could not spread over all of Europe... we also kicked the Japanese asses, Russians didn't do shit.

  • @porterbehling fair enough. I think though, that the smartest move would have been to not declare war on Nazi Germany until it had wiped out Soviet Russia. That way, you could have swatted two flies with a stone. And if USSR had fallen, countries like Cuba, North Korea, Vietnam etc. would have never happened.

  • @isiskrisis the Red Army did more than their share of the work but otherwise no comments to add

  • @isiskrisis lol everyone contributed not just the US... US wasn't nothing special other than they had resources matching the nazi's + the US would never of joined the war if Japan hadn't attacked pearl harbour, the president wanted to but the nations people voted to not participate in the war (before pearl harbour) nothing motivates victory in war than a lovely spoon full of revenge lol

  • God and the bible talks about doing the right thing, some of you guys fail to realize, sometimes the right thing is to fight.

  • @AgentSarx so i suppose serj's idea is praise the lord and sit and watch the nazi burn the world. people dont realize how intolerent the Nazi's were.

  • great song xDD

  • Praise The LORD

    and Pass The Ammunition!

    GOD BLESS, ALL ALLIED FORCES!

    Dio Vindice!

  • I love this song... !!

  • Thank You

  • Yeah, thanks for posting, I've ever heard this song on my grandfather's record player.

  • These songs always make me feel like I am back in the War years with my uncles and aunts. It's sort of comforting. Thank you for posting this. :)
