I'm actually going to South Korea to visit my sister teaching there and she told me that there is a small 4D (a theater that has the seats move etc) plays this movie atleast once a day. I'm so pumped to see it again! =)
When I first heard the title for this movie, like most people, I assumed it was intended for kids. But then I saw some [non-spoiler] clips and trailers on youtube, they immediately changed my mind. How To Train Your Dragon is the only movie I've ever been excited to see in theaters, and beyond satisfied by the end of it.
this is berk it snows 9 month of the year and hells the other 3......... any food that grows he is togh and tastless the peaple here are even more so......... the only up sides are the pet............. while other places have ponies and parrets we have dragons!
Another milestone for How to Train Your Dragon, official trailer on Youtube, more than 2 million hits as of Saturday, 5 June 2010.
Theaters....as of 28 May 2010, the theater count dropped from 1,751 to only 825. It is playing at a discount theater about 15 miles from me for $3.00 a showing. Go to Boxoffice Mojo website, look How to Train Your Dragon and look for Showtimes.
OMG!!!! They should use the epic part 0:11 when the TV spots and commercial for the 2012 Olympics near. The anglo undertones totally make me think of England.
I can only hope DreamWorks doesn't whore out How to Train Your Dragon like they do with all of their other franchises. I know a sequel is coming, and I know a TV show is coming. I hope they can compare to the movie though. That would be amazing! Love this movie!! ;D
On the Boxoffice Mojo web site, one of their comparison pages is dragon movies, and that is all 8 of them that were listed there. I guess they include only movies in which the dragon was a major character. By the way, I get most of my box office figures from that web site.
As of 9 May 2010, Dragon has grossed $201,013,867 domestically, making it DreamWorks fifth highest grossing movie ahead of Madagascar and Monsters Vs. Aliens and behind the Shrek movies and Kung Fu Panda. It is the number four highest grossing 3D movie behind Up, Alice in Wonderland (2010) and AVATAR. It has grossed $207,800,00 foreign bringing the world wide total to $408,813,867.
As of 5 May 2010, domestic gross is $193,856,228 making Dragon the number 6 highest grossing DreamWorks film just ahead of Madagascar. Dragon is also the number 6 highest grossing 3D film. Foreign gross is $204,400,000 bringing the worldwide gross to $398,256,228.
Jeffrey Katzenberg of DreamWorks has announced that DreamWorks is working on a sequel to How to Train Your Dragon which is projected to come out in the second half of 2013, a TV series, an online virtual world and an arena show similar to Walking With Dinosaurs (Google it).
@saydave123 I like it too. I think it's 2010's best film yet. I hope there will be more films like this.(Awesome music and beautiful scenes, good story and characters.)
@saydave123 I only watched it once. on DVD. and I am just ITCHING to watch it over and over and over again. the music is awesome, the animation is awesome, and the story is awesome. plus the fact that I even more than love dragons just adds to how much I love this movie!
lol I bought the DVD last Saturday and have watched the movie 7 times since then! 3 times in English and 4 times in German. It's actually one of the very few movies where the German sub can keep up with the original, with the Scottish dialect replaced by stereotypical northern German sailor speech - hilarous! :D Plus, the German voice for Hiccup sounds younger and IMO more fitting than the English one, which sounds like someone in their mid-20s... still the best CGI movie ever! :D
