my god so beutifull.....my planst wont grow, ive tried everything exept fertilazer to put in the roots, you think it would help....i cant watch the plants as much as i would prefer, lots of fish of different water types makes it hard.....any advice?
I just planted my first tank and now there are brown spots - not rotting leaves but spots or smudges appearing on my leaves. Any ideas what this is and how to correct it? Thanks.
@teeceetommy1 All the cleaning you really have to do on a tank like that is vacuuming the gravel, doing regular water changes, and changing the filter.
Not like you havent heard it before, but the wooden centerpiece makes the aquarium. your overall underwater landscape looks so natural with it. I'm trying to perfect my aquarium, but I don't have much luck with live plants. I just made a video with my 3d background. It's not the best, but it does the job.
but if your tetra's ever die ( as all things must)
i would consider getting somthing like an eel. they are really cool looking, and the tank looks prefect for one. wouldnt recommend it with small fish howevr. it would be like godzilla and a japanese dude.

@MrBEAST127 Java Moss. It grows like a beast. If you dose a bit of Flourish Excel, you will be trimming it every week after the first few months.

The soil is high in iron when I bought it. Not sure about how to trim bamboo. Mine don't grow much.

What piano piece is this? Yeah, I'm seriously jealous of the driftwood and level of plant growth. It reminds me of a Miyazaki set, especially with the music. I wish I wasn't a poor college student with a cycling 10gal :P

Has any one here owned gold ribbon plants and if you have then please tell me how they did in your tank. The pet store I bought it from said they were semi aquatic but I heard they aren't even aquatic and that they rot and die if submerged in water.

how do you clean a tank when is planted with live plants? can you put angel fish, molly and guppies in a planted tank? i want to get a 55 gallon fish tank but do you use the gravel vacuums to clean the bottom gravel of the tank? are live plants hard to care? any information will be appreciated. thank you.

wow gr8 tank it will be a very happy home to alot of new fish im a beginnier to fish and i just set up my tank and i dont have alo of plants in so im gunna be buying some plants next week for when i buy the fish because i want my fish to feel safe and happy at the same time!

Nice tank! Love the drift wood. I would upgrade your 50/50 bulbs or at least replace the 460 nm actinic bulb with a 5000-6700K bulb. 50/50 bulbs are for saltwater tanks usually.

hey i would like to start one of these. i would need to maybe get the "cheapest" possible plants to plant first just because id rather spend more money on the set up. what are the absolute necessities for one of these tanks? idk how big my tank is. its under 40 gal but bigger than 10 and i think bigger than 20. so id say 25-35 gallons maybe. please list the things id need to get started (substrate, filter if needed, things like that, thanks!
