can't understand the guy who's criticising your choice of register when it clearly says it's a tutorial. For most players learning on a lower register and transferring it up makes life easier (which, if I'm not mistaken, is the purpose of a tutorial. Thanks a million "brennenreece". this has been really useful for me and I'm playing it on bass. If you have any more tricky heads you feel like posting please ignore the moaners and keep em coming.
Register can be an interpretation, especially in jazz. Would you say that, hypothetically, a trombone and piccolo should be playing Ornithology at the same pitch?
Also, the middle register of the guitar has more growl. It's really about personal preference. Especially in jazz.
In this register, especially if your playing with another chordal instrument the sound will get muddy and drowned out. Too many los. a trombone wouldn't have that problem as much but also a trombone normally wouldn't be playing the head. IF you are looking for a stronger sound from the instrument play on heavier strings inside the neck. hollow body might help fatten it up too.
thanks for the video

It's a standard, not a cover.

@brennenreece
A quitarist should be able to play each theme in two octaves! ;-)

@brennenreece it's also easier to look at the sheet and read it lower to get the notes, and than play it an octave up to get the feel of the alto sax

Thank you very much! Very well done and thanks for the great help. For those who want the music sheet, maybe you can find it on the Real Book.
