Monotonous, isn't it! I believe WPIX-FM simulcasted on "11 Alive" way back when. Nowadays, you can buy a DVD with lots of logs burning and Christmas songs as well. It's my understanding that "PIX" originally did this for the poor in the tenements who didn't have a fireplace. In early television, what "PIX" did was innovative. I guess if you had a black and white set, you used your imagination. A few years ago, Nick At Nite did a spoof with some nut toasting a marshmallow on the TV set. LOL

Looks like your research is way off as well, my friend. During my research, there was never a definition of "Yule" found that defines the word meaning "child." The word originates in the late 1400's and is actually the root for the English word "jolly." Other uses relate the word to a specific time of year, aka winter.
