Yes, Dick Dodd is the original singer. Amazingly the Standells are the only 60's rock group still intact. See their page on Facebook.

Funny thing about this record. It was indeed banned on KHJ, the top AM station here in Los Angeles, but it was No. 1 on the playlist of rival station KRLA. How's that for a contrast?
