I feel like I've seen this before! It's almost the same as Janet Jackson's Control! I don't know whos the copycat here - probably Janet! Anyway I love them both!
This was actually directed by none other than David Fincher, made famous later by directing films like Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
I love this song and love watching her dance. U don't see this type of dance these days. she may not be the best singer but she has a package. She's like the 90's version of Kylie Minogue or Britney Spears. They don't have the greatest voice but they can entertain.
Paula Abdul is Absolutely amazing! She can do anything. And in the video the danceing is HOTT! I like the beginning when the are all together! I love that!
Wow Paula could be very well be the greatest female dancer of all time. Seriously she can tear that dance floor up. Very on point and her moves are aggressive yet sexy as hell at the same time. The way she moves with the song it's just all great stuff. Huge talent. Her voice is distinctive and it's hers. Not great, but she's makes it work very well for her style of music. I think she was awesome during this time.
I'm glad there are still lots of folks out there who admire her and don't trash her every chance they get. She really IS talented.....not many can put on a show with singing AND incredible dance like she does. And yes, she is a beautiful person...I had the chance to meet her also....you'd never know she was a celebrity.....as down to earth and sweet as can be.....
Paula yes she can dance but who says she could SING????Thank GOD She dose not sing no mre Coz she sucks at singing BIG TIME!Paula I like you but Stick with your dancing.Your a better DANCER,BUT YOU SUCK AT SINGING.
People seem to like to bust on Paula...She's an INCREDIBLE dancer...people don't realize the other stars she's choreographed......Paula set the standard for dance videos....
This is the queen of dancing...Who even taught Janet to dance!!!...Who ya'll think who could dance better Paula Abdul or Janet Jackson?..Im sorry but Im gonna have to say Paula Abdul because but Janet's my girl too...I love both of em'...Love ya'll !!
It's a shame that todays teens don't even have a clue who Paula Abdul is, except the woman on "IDOL"......too bad they weren't around in the day she was doing all that awesome footwork!!!
i am only 14 years old and a few months agaoy i found out that she used to be a huge pop star... too bad i wasnt born during the late 80s but i still love paula abdul!!! she rox!!!!
im 15 and im her biggest fan. im also way ahead of my time, but thats beside the point.haha. i knew who she was before idol, the reason i started watching idol is because i heard she was on it. She is my HERO and my inspiration , and her role as an incredible performer plays a huge role in that. and i know other teen fans who feel the same. so teens do have a clue. just thought id letcha know!
That is awesome! I was way ahead of my time too when I was your age. I'm 23 now, but was also into music and stuff that someone twice my age would have grown up with..HA, all my teachers in school thought I was cool and all my friends thought I was a weirdo! Oh well, builds character. Kudos to you for being yourself. I love Paula, grew up with her music!
Funny thing....todays teens only know Paula from "Idol"....I wish they were around to see where she started and what a fantastic dancer she was (is)....I heard she's out with some new stuff.....can't wait!!!
The reason Paula had the animated cat on the video was to pay tribute to Gene Kelly. Gene Kelly danced with animated Jerry the mouse from Tom and Jerry cartoon. You know Paula loved to pay tribute to great dancers and choreographers. although I know alot of people thought it was lame. I understood why she did it.
Very good opinion there, really. I think the slight remix helped as well. i have never seen this particular video up until now. For the longest time MTV played the original LP mix video version.
They don't make em like this anymore. True Entertainers-with class and true to their art and craft-not spilling their personal lives into tabloid fodder thus seperating themselves as artists.
Well first off every time paula came up with new moves janet all of the sudden had the same moves and by (moves)i mean dance steps for those who dont under stand!
There are 2 videos for "The Way that You Love Me." This was the first one, released in late 1988 before "Straight Up" made her a superstar! After that and "Forever Your Girl" and "Cold Hearted" went to Number 1, they re-released "The Way that You Love Me", which is the one where she looks very stylish, no dancing, etc. Then the song shot up to Number 3, before "Opposites Attract" went to Number 1 again after it!
