It's sad that most good CRTs are far past their prime, so they won't look as good.
Either way Plasma burns in and dies faster and my only gripe with LCD is that I'm a cheap gamer, and I keep my resolution low to compensate for my shoddy video cards, not to mention I use my CRT to play 360 and PS3 games since I have no need for a HDTV.
CRTs by far can be allot better than those LCDs. I have an old dell monitor from a few years back and it can support 1920x1080 @ 60hz. If you're not gonna be moving the monitor around much, you might as well get a CRT imo. LCDs have a fixed refreshrate of 60, while I can get 120 @ 640x480 on this CRT. As far as color and quality, CRTs also reign superior with the color depth and smaller pixel distance. As far as flickering, as long as your monitor is set at 60hz, the games should run flawlessly.
I sincerely hope you are joking! CRT monitors offer the best response time and refresh rate of 75Hz+. They are THE choice for gaming, as long as limited space isn't on your mind.

Just because you can't afford an LCD monitor, doesn't mean you have to go bragging that CRT's are better. LCD's support much higher resolutions thus making the quality surpass the refresh rate.
are you an idiot??? my CRT supports upto 2048 x 1536 at 75Hz what LCD HDTV comes close to that??? stupid learn about what you are talking about. By the way i have 3 LCD HDTVs in my house but my old 21" CRT monitor still produces the best most accurate colours and best picture quality by far!
When building my gaming rig I closely compared CRT & LCD & CRT totally beats lcd, Especially when it comes to contrast & color accuracy, I got the Viewsonic p225f about 3 years ago & I love it! 2048x1536 75Hz. I found this video cause I'm planning on getting a kvm switch & adding my 360 to my monitor, So I can play 360 games that aren't released on pc.I already got the VGA cable just need to buy a switch. If you play games in the dark on crt you don't get the annoying light bleed you do with lcd
A KVM switch at 2048*1536 @75 Hz ?? It will kill picture quality... The picture will be blur and full of ghost picture. I can't imagine a KVM switch which handles this resolution correctly. Maybe it exists, but you will expend the price of a smaller house for it ; )
Dear God you sound like an idiot. Why do you think people go to the trouble and take up their entire desk with an 85 pound monitor? Because it is infinitely better than ANY LCD out there. I keep trying to find an lcd that will be acceptable to game on but it doesn't exist. I've got a Mitsubishi Diamond Plus Flat screen 22" CRT and it's amazing for PC and XBOX. The best thing about CRTs is they support multiple resolutions where a LCD is stuck at it's native(if you change it it looks like crap)
Unless the CRT monitor that your are describing has native DVI input then unfortunately you will not be able to use a DVI to HDMI to get full 1080p on your monitor.
if you have problems with the audio using the vga cable just buy an addapter like this 1 on amazon or something, it lets you use the 2 rca cables on any speaker, heres the link:
No. I have a 22" LCD, the max ras 1680 x 1050. it is best to have it at 1280x720. I like the CRT Monitor better. I can't adjust the screen on my LCD, it looks narrow. I have a 16" CRT Monitor, Small!! I'm looking for a 22" CRT supports 1080p.
its 100% not an 22 inch screen

lol idiot, CRT have no reponse lag. but lukerman all 360 games run at 60Hz so CRT suffer from screen flicker which gives me a headache anyway :(

crt is better for gaming because of the screen refresh rate
EliteLandmine 4 years ago 3
no.. correction LCD has come a long way from what it used to be.. LCD Delivers superior clarity and resolution and not to mention power savings.
Creeperb19 4 years ago
the only difference atm is HDTV compared to crt but if you dont have a HDTV LCD screen youre better off using a CRT trust me i have both
EliteLandmine 4 years ago

Creeperb19 4 years ago

True but you just buy the VGA Cable and output at 1080P and good to go. Analog but still progressive at 60hz.

sherwind2010 4 years ago
that monitor can handle 2048x1536, but the 360 itself can only render most games at around 1280x720 and then upscale to 1920x1080.

The vga cable microsoft makes has red and white connectors, it also comes with a converter so you can just plug in computer speakers.
