So according to them, console development didn't affect PC development. Just because they got lazy doesn't mean its the console's fault. Crytek has proven they can optimize though. @SomeAnonymousDude Try watching it in HD. Everything on the PC is more detailed from textures to the lighting. In the scene where the player is free falling you can see motion blur on the PC side while console does not. As the player is floating to the ground you'll notice that trees loading in frame and much less populated. Some things I noticed right away.

The main problem is that consoles are less than 720p on modern titles while a good PC does >1080p + AA.. That's something you can't see in this video.
There is not much difference comparing them like that in 720p (low bitrate also smoothes the difference in details) although you can see some fps drops on Xbox. 1080p + AA is where PC shines.

@chadunn13 another thing is that a PC could easily handle 2 3 4 players on one computer. it has lots of USB ports for multiple controllers. their graphics cards support multiple monitors. the problem is that PC's don't get very many exclusives. And all of the games are designed for the consoles foremost and then ported over to the PC which then doesn't provide any support for multiplayer. Its certainly not that they couldn't add multiplayer on a PC. they choose not to.

The "next gen "consoles are antique technology. The only reason they vaguely compare with modern PC's is because, firstly, developers have got damn good at squeezing shit out of consoles.
Even so, titles developed for multiplatform, inevitably means the PC version gets downgraded from its actual capability. Low res textures and no DX11.
e.g. Skyrim ships with textures limited to 512x512 for console limits. User mods have added 2048x 2048 HD textures, which is 16x the quality and looks amazing.

@namelesssnitchy the main difference is the shaders and that xbox360 only use SSAO while pc uses HBAO and pc also has higher quality on particle effects and smother framerate since the pc isnt run up to the top of what it can handle also the shadows feather smoother on the pc version (note this is not stuff that i say to be a douche or a pc fanboy, this is actually stuff that ive noticed while playing it on both pc and xbox lol and from seeing this vid with both side by side)

@chadunn13 Its definitely not economical to have multiple pc's... and i think the consoles fine for recreational gaming. but it sure is fun to play a game of crysis wars against your children while they use there own screens.
I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but i just don't like the idea of buying consoles, blue ray players and stereos when a PC can do all of that stuff and much much more.
If people would just upgrade their PC every once in a while, you would never have need for a console.

@chadunn13 another thing is that a PC could easily handle 2 3 4 players on one computer. it has lots of USB ports for multiple controllers. their graphics cards support multiple monitors. the problem is that PC's don't get very many exclusives. And all of the games are designed for the consoles foremost and then ported over to the PC which then doesn't provide any support for multiplayer. Its certainly not that they couldn't add multiplayer on a PC. they choose not to.

The "next gen "consoles are antique technology. The only reason they vaguely compare with modern PC's is because, firstly, developers have got damn good at squeezing shit out of consoles.
Even so, titles developed for multiplatform, inevitably means the PC version gets downgraded from its actual capability. Low res textures and no DX11.
e.g. Skyrim ships with textures limited to 512x512 for console limits. User mods have added 2048x 2048 HD textures, which is 16x the quality and looks amazing.

@namelesssnitchy the main difference is the shaders and that xbox360 only use SSAO while pc uses HBAO and pc also has higher quality on particle effects and smother framerate since the pc isnt run up to the top of what it can handle also the shadows feather smoother on the pc version (note this is not stuff that i say to be a douche or a pc fanboy, this is actually stuff that ive noticed while playing it on both pc and xbox lol and from seeing this vid with both side by side)
