i couldn't have said it better! these people r not only a hazard to themselves, but to the rest of us who are licensed and registered to be on public transportation roads. all bicyclists should die a slow and horrible death under the tire of a moving vehicle.
A long time ago, a group of heros stood against slavery. Back then there were pricks that tried to stop them. Those pricks had slaves, they did not see the point of fighting against that.
Today ( almost ) everyone recognise that having a black slave at home is absolutely unethical.
Every era has it's Pricks. You guys are the XXI century pricks. Some day you'll see what the planet has become, and you'll realise we were right and you were wrong.
in every other country things are different than in this one, stop crying. why don't you go live in one of those other countries you're trying to compare us to, these bicyclists shouldn't be on our public transportation roads, no license plate to identify the ones breaking the law, no proof of insurance, what rights do u people think u have on OUR roads?
while it is legal for a bicycle to be in the road, you must be single file, as far to the right of the road as possible. this fellow was not following safe cycling laws, and deserved what he got. what most people don't understand is that the way they are "celebrating" cycling is actually doing more harm than good in terms of public opinion.
there is no law in nyc that bicyclist must ride single file , as far right as possible means, not in the door zone, if a car or bicyclist is on your right, you cannot ride any further to the right.
road debris, pot holes double parked cars and dealing with cars making right hand turns make it perfectly legal and safer to ride in the center of the road.
there absolutely is a law stating that you must ride as far to the right as possible except when making a left hand turn, and yes i said as far as it is safe to do. i did not mean you had to take car doors in the face, or ride over all the potholes. there should be no other bicycle to your right, for you should either be in front of or behind them. riding in the middle is where people changing lanes are not going to see you, making it much more dangerous a lane to be in.
actaully, the NY DMV states that "Bicyclists, in-line skaters, and motor vehicle drivers must all use and obey the same traffic laws." That includes the laws on lane sharing asshat. I'm about to quit the internet because of pricks like you who don't know what they are talking about thinking they are hot shit.
In Brooklyn the cops send a few guys to tag along and otherwise ignore the Critical Mass, so far B'lyn's managed to not fall in anarchy. I believe the cops used the same minimal approach to a recent memorial bike ride in Manhattan and it also went very well. If the cops turned down the heat on the rides they'd go a lot smoother for everyone.
Yes, sir. If one were there, one would know. The NYPD patiently endured a snootful of dysfunction from the Critical Mass protesters. Critical Mass's protestors are petrol-sniffing cyclists with tattoos and attitude, cross-addicted to ecstasy and violence. There are peaceful protests, and then there are Critical Mass-type protests. Let the police distinquish which is which.
Critical Mass is a peaceful protest, the police's overreaction draws radicals looking for a fight to the Critical Mass. And I'm guessing you've never been to a Critical Mass in Manhattan b/c then you would know that the police have started arresting people only a few blocks from Union Sq w/o even waiting for the cyclists to break a law, except the BS new parade laws.
lol ya... I just looked up the word 'peaceful' in the dictionary and you 100% correct. It says, clear as day, that the word can only be used as an adjective to describe activities that DO NOT (sic) take place during normal business hours...
the whole point of critical mass is to advocate a bike friendly city which would be less congested and produce less polution and fewer bicyclistcfatalities. have you ever attended your local critical mass?
I love those little BV200's the NYPD ride, they look like they'd be really fun to ride!

In maryland you must obey the same laws as cars and you must not drive in between cars.
Driving in between cars durring a red light or green light and you will be found by judge to be guilty.
