ubuntu for me was good apart from my number 1 key would not work ahd to use the keypad, am on debian and wow this thing is fighting me every step of the way I might try linux mint as dont have time to fight an OS

Definitely try Linux Mint. In order of difficulty from hard to easier..... Debian->Ubuntu->Linux Mint.

I'm a Linux noob but I am running a system now with Mint on it and it runs fine. Yeah, it isn't perfect...but you learn as you go along.

Yeah the kiba dock is pry the best iv seen. lol its an upgrade from rocket dock anyway. hey guys don t knock apple or microsoft they are all pc's and both companies have done amazing things for the personal computer industry.

Actually it runs really smooth on my Ubuntu.

My specs are.

S3 Savage 4 32MB GPU.

AMD Duron 800MHZ "Spitfire"

K7F2 RAID Motherboard

256 MB RAM

So it isnt such a waste of LOTS of resources, only a little :P

I would use the dock if it wherent for one thing. I can't get the taskbar plugin to work...

my dock's up n running, but thing is i cant throw the icons around. If I click and drag them out, then release, they just jump back to their original state. Is there a special setting or a plugin or something?

Also, I have AWN installed (gt kiba after awn), n i want awn to stop openin at boot. i've removed it from system>pref>sessions, but its still comes. ne help pls?

Ok this isn't a support forum but here it goes. You need to go to preferences in your AWN dock and un-check the load on start up option it has. I don't have any experience with Kiba Dock yet. It looks promising, however I personally think the mac style doc is more productive and easier to use. I am ganna give kiba a go

I have this dock installed and it is great. It has more features and works better than AWN. It is highly configurable. It's not useless, it's a dock, and has full docking capabilities.

The author didn't program this so people would fire it up and go "Wow, Programs are much easier to load now that I can make their launchers fly around on the screen" It's just for fun.
