don't you have any sr problem at higher level dungeons? i mean your caster level may not be that high... and your bab might be quit low if you have much wiz level..
@emptyna Actually, caster lvl at 20 is 17. With Spell penetration, items, and enhancements, my effective caster level for SR is 23 currently. As far as BaB.. as I mentioned in a previous post, use either Divine Power clickies, or if you have a good UMD, carry scrolls. Divine Power pushes your BaB to a full bonus equal to your level.. problem solved.
@rolfcoppter they combine classes for there specialtys for exp. if you wanted to be a tank ranger i suggest having like 5 in fighters since they can use high class armour and got the dex for it then like 15 in range and your like a pro tanker right there
man im used to normal mmos where u choose one class and have that one role.. but in this game.. you can combine classes and skills? Can someone please explain this to me? I realise this is kind of a stupid question for all you silly pros at DDO.
I m drow 2 rog 1 fighter and 8 wiz now. I can solo normal 11-12 lvl dunges.
My base con is only 12 but with elem resist, stoneskin and false life i even dont need to heal myself. With maxed Int (30 now) Suggestion and web helps a lot. Fire walls works great too. Maxed rog skills is very fun. I love perma exp. retreat and jump. Evasion works in mithral chainshirt and there is no spell failure.
Valid point on the AB.. carry Divine Power clickies or scrolls if you have a high enough UMD. You'll find right now that you are godlike in power, but be forewarned that you will be wishing for healing more and more as you get further in level. You'll also find that armor stops being important when compared to DR. You may want to think about carrying a Tower Shield, as the DR from blocking stacks with Stoneskin, leaving you with some incredible tanking ability at high lvl.
int for reflex, con for ho and fort saves, str for THF, wis for will saves.... the 2rog is for trap skills evasion rog haste boost(same a fighter) and sneak attacks... Barb is for rage, barb sprint boost, extra base speed, extra base hp, extra toughness enhancements,,, 17wiz for alll your spells.. use a MinII great axe with the torc and conc opp.
The class breakdown looks doable, but I'd drop wisdom. As a WF, you have no business really worrying about your will save anyway, since you're immune to most of the scary will save effects anyway. I'll also mention that barbarian rage looks/sounds good on paper, but you can't cast spells while raging, the duration would be almost unusable on that particular build and you'd only have 1 of them. Yes, faster movement is good, but it makes more sense to go 2monk, 1 fighter for 3 bonus feats.
You can try it, but that con is really darn low to be stepping in to combat. This particular build started at 14 con, and he barely breaks 300 hp at lvl 17 and that's with 3 toughness feats. On the flipside, my WF version of this build is lvl 12 right now and he's already got almost as many hp.
Probably a good breakdown, I would recommend sticking with str, con, and intelligence for your stats, and I would also recommend going warforged, as the repair spells = self-healing.
max your intelligence, get at least a 14 constitution, and put the rest of them into strength. As you level up, put your stat increases into intelligence if you want your spells to succeed regularly. Be prepared, wizards are very mana restricted, so you'll need to pay attention to what works best.
It's mithral twilight full plate.Twilight reduces the penalty by 20% I believe. Mithral not only drops the spell failure by 10%, it also lowers the weight class of full plate to medium (instead of heavy). As a drow, this character can also have an enhancement line that reduces spell failure in light and medium armor so that he could wear this full plate with only 5% or so spell failure.
I'm confused on the multiclass. I know how to, but you only get to go half of the levels? What's this mean? You'll be half as good as the lvl 20s? I want to make a Fighter/Wizard, but i'd be 10Fighter/10Wizard when others would be 20?
Justin, if you were 10/10.. you'd have all the hp, attack bonus, saves, feats, etc.. of a 10th lvl fighter PLUS all the abilities of the 10th lvl wizard.
I would not personally recommend such a large split of levels unless you have something specific in mind. Your offensive spells would be weaker than any full blown (or close to full blown) caster.. so you'd be relegating your spells to primarily buffing and (if you're warforged) healing.
You pick it up when you level.. say you're level three rogue, and you decide you want to pick up a level in fighter, you go to the fighter trainer and level up to 4th lvl.. now you're 3 rogue/1 fighter.. at lvl 5, you decide to pick up another lvl of rogue, so you visit the rogue trainer.. now you're 4 rog/1 ftr..
When it goes free, I want to be a Fighter/Wizard or Sorcerer. Whatever mage class is a damage dealer. How do I get a second class, though? Do you pick at the beggining like Guild Wars?
Chiang is a 14/2 Wizard/Fighter. I'm using Cloudburst for my weapon, due to it's good constant damage and high dmg proc. Eventually he'll run around with a greensteel weapon, but at this time I'm taking a break away from DDO.
Well, it's going to be relaunching with free content in a few months, so that'll definitely be a good time to give it a go. It'll also mark a new era where it's more possible to solo content due to a new scaling system, so it'll be a great time to try it out. Frankly.. I love the game. It's had some bumpy times.. I've cancelled and re-upped it a couple times, but it's the only online game that's held my interest.. hell, the ONLY game that's held my interest as long as it has (almost 5 yrs)
@DillonRobertsoneN .Well the controlls is almost like what you see in the morwind games but in third person, I really liked it and it was fun to play
but it was alitle sad that you couldent meet any others oute in the world, you have to get in a groop to do that =S ut you see other peole in the cityes =)

Only Drow! Always Drow!
Is there any items, that will rise my dex by 6 points? If so then here my future stats.
Str: 16 - later i ll get +1 enhance and +3 tome
Dex: 10 - with +6 item it willl be max +3 AC bonus in mithral FP
Con: 11 - later i ll get +3 tome
Int: 19 - In future - +3 tome, +5 enchancements AND +5 ability points. It will be 32 total.
What do you think about it?
And if barbarian speed stacks with hast, i ll go with 2F 1Barb 17 wiz for 9 lvl spells.

Wouldn't you have en enormous spell failure chance in that armor?
Or is your armor enchanted to bypass that penalty?
