  • this is fucking awesome, guys add me on steam: captainthomson! :D

  • catch a breath bro... thx for the review

  • what are your settings like in windows as in speaker setup is it 5.1 and also what settings do you have on the inline audio controller with rear, front, sub and centre Thanks nice vid like and subsription from me :D

  • you need to plug in the usb AND the 4 jacks? or is it just the usb to make it work? cause i have a laptop so i cant plug in 4 jacks if it's needed :s ..

  • Does it compatible with Xbox 360 !?

  • "true blue ray soundcard" lol nuff said. Now wheres my anti-gravity deodorant?

  • @shukero What are your thoughts on them now. Any new negatives with headset age/use?

  • how is the cable on the tritton headsets I had had luck with the turtle beach headsets where the cable from the headset would strip and it would expose the wire and it would stop working I know razer had braided cables on their products but I don't know how tritton is with their cables.

  • Comment removed

  • is this better then the razer megalodon i don't know which headset to buy

  • @AlexBlaze2 My opinion may be bias, because I've had horrible luck with razer products, IE they all broke within a week of me using them. Building quality is tritton hands down, and audio, I cant say since I've never compared em sorry.

  • Hey there, I recently got these for Xmas, the are epic! Just one thing, the mic picks up alot of my breathing is there anyway to reduce or stop it?

    Regards Leon

  • @LJXenonUk check your audio driver settings. Your volume may be too loud.

  • How do they sound with onboard audio? I don't have a sound card, but I think my mobos sound is pretty good. supports 7.1 analog, coax and toslink optical as well.

  • @itskevinheath I have true blueray on board audio with my msi gaming motherboard. onboard is just fine for surround sound.

  • possible to connect with 7,1?

  • @1337ImpeRaToR itll work

  • ps3?

  • You have a Beast Keyboard

  • One more thing I've learned about this headset after using it for a while now. It seems you have to be mindful of how it's positioned on your head. If you have it pushed too far forward, the rear speakers will not hit the correct part of your ear and you won't be able to discern the front sounds from the ones meant to come behind. I found letting your hear hug the front part of the ear cup helped greatly. Still comfortable and it sounds just like it's intended to.

  • im going to buy a Sapphire 890gx motherboard which have 6 audio colors...it is or i need to buy an external 5.1 sound card?

  • @LoquendoGameITA It's always better to use a soundcard but your motherbord should deal with 5.1 just fine.

A sound card will clean the sound and help you get rid of all the parasites.

  • are they true 5.1 surround or just sterio headphones?

  • @mustanggtxps3 They are true 5.1 surround, I wouldnt say true 5.1 unless it is true 5.1

  • @shukero sorry i was skipping some parts must have skipped over it :P but thanks

  • Well I have my pair now and they are really great. Suddenly my other headphones don't sound so great any more and yes, they DO beat simulated surround sound. The ONLY problem I am having is that there seems to be electrical interference somewhere as I can hear this constant hiss coming through them which is worsened when the Mic is plugged in. Something may not be properly "grounded" but I am not sure what exactly. The USB power cord maybe?

  • hey quick question? am i able to connect this to my xbox so i can hear the game audio?

  • @UGotBloodOnMyAk Pleas read the comments below, I have answered about 200 of these same questions.

  • Thanks for the great review! I was on the fence between this and the more expensive "AX Pro but" but based on your review (and others I have read), this seems like the MUCH better option. I have really gotten into surround sound gaming and plus I am sick of having a desk mic which has proven very awkward to use.

  • do they work on pc and xbox? mic compatible with xbox?

  • @Giuseppe194 please read comments below, as I hav e answered this same question about 200 times now.

  • @shukero i dont find it.. just write it?

  • @TDGReplayzZ either you have it in the wrong port or you have the wrong mic picked under your recording devices in setting

  • i got these head phone on now as we speak but my mic ant working on them :/

  • I had this for couple months and im not that impressed. I was hoping for better performance :/

  • Hey shukero, been going through headsets lately trying to find one that has great noise isolation. This set looks like it will do that. How is the noise cancellation on it? Completely around ear? Doesn't touch the lobes? etc.

  • @bonzaibunny well from your questions I gathering you don't mean noise cancellation, but more a long the lines of noise ISOLATION. This headset has no hardware for cancellation, but it does have great isolation; as it goes all around the ear including the earlobes. The only thing touching the ear pieces is the side of your head. Your whole ear does in fact fit inside of this headset. I can not hear anything outside of the headset unless I turn it way down or take them off. :)

  • @sweatygamers1 yes its the best

  • Is the Microphone any good?

  • @SweatyGamers1 Yes, its an hd mic :P

  • Hi mate, I'm from sweden and are just about purchasing these or the AX Proe's.

I'm only intrested in PC gaming and want the best sound but for the best prise of course...

I would like to know if there is any really big diffrenses between em' ?

    Please answer, thanks! ^^

  • @fr3dr1k0n2 Well! This is a surprise that someone all the way from sweden would watch my video! I'm Glad I put it up! To answer your question as simply as possible. It is my opinion, that these PC 510 HD headsets are far superior to the AX Pro. These have better drivers, better bass, and just better sound all together. I MUST WARN you though! I'm not sure what their shipping requirements are. Make sure they ship to you; or you have a store that sells them ^_^/

  • I just bought them they are epic!

  • @MinecraftWeShalPlay indeed :) I'm sure you will be most happy with them. If they don't sound right, give it about 2-3 days of common use to get used to the new sound. If they still feel wrong, try to RMA them :)

  • @shukero I only have a light green, a redish pink, and a light blue port. I messed with it and it wornt work at all now, do you know what the problem is?

  • @zane1003 I may indeed know what the problem is. You may have it in the wrong port. The green is for stereo, or speakers. There should be a green plug for the green port. Like wish for the redish pink which is your MIC. And the light blue is your bass port. There maybe some lint or something inside of the port itself, you may need to update your audio drivers, or you may have your soundcard disabled for some reason. (most unlikely)

  • How do you set it up? I only have 3/4 slots for it all, I cant get my mic to work.

  • @zane1003 This means you only have stereo and bass hookups. Plug the green one into the port labeled with "headphones"this is your stereo port. PLug in your pinkish on into the one that's labeled "microphone" port, and plug in the blue one into the remaining port.

  • Can an AMD High Definition Sound Card Support the surround sound?

  • @Toqehh That depends on how many ports that AMD sound card has. if it has 6 then yes, if it has 3, then it will support 3.1 surround. if 2 then just stereo. read your manual, check the back of your computer or you can go to a place like bestbuy to check :)

  • @shukero: Actually, I think it's at least five ports for a surround capable card. At minimum there should be a:

    - pink port for the microphone

    - blue port for line-In

    - green port for line-out (i.e. speakers/headphones)

    - orange port for Sub-woofer

    - black port for rear/surround channels.

In my case though, I have an external sound card with a separate line-out port for speakers and headphones so that both can be connected simultaneously.

  • @JoeBee9 What about front channels? what color?

  • @XxWaterStreamxX: Green actually doubles as both the stereo line out and "fronts" when in surround sound mode. Don't use the headphones port (if there's a separate one) as your fronts because it will shut off all the other channels.

  • @Toqehh If it has a 5.1 surround sound input, then yes.

  • Is it just me or is there always a quiet static sound in the background when wearing these? it never seems to go away either.

  • @MeetTheFlutterspy That depends on your answer to the following question: Do you have the volume turned all the way up to max? If your answer is yes, then yes you will hear a faint background noise, since all headset with volume control go up a lot higher than the OS usually allows, which then puts a lot more stress on your sound card and results in a faint background hissing noise. if no then you have a defective product, send in for RMA.

  • Hi, I do not embarrass you, but your work is great. I wanted to know if I can use the PC510 on a normal laptop with just a microphone and audio output, or if there are adapters to make it better by increasing its ports ... which I now =) If not, I'm not on whether it is cheaper and better for what I have to take the AX 180.

thank you for your great work and your answers =)

  • @11Astonmartin you can use this headsey with any computer. However there will be no surround sound if you do not have a sound card which supports it. Many laptops have a very long and skinny port on the side which allows for 3rd party devices like wireless adapters and sound cards to be installed onto the laptop. If you require surround I'd say to make sure you have that port and to get a creative sound card for laptops.

  • Can I use my PC 510 Tritton keg as audio for iPod??

  • @11Astonmartin no as u need power to power the headset.

  • @shukero OKay..thanks.

  • @11Astonmartin no since it requires usb to power it.

  • Will these work with xbox?

  • @Adamantittee Please read comments below, as they hold your answer

  • what if i have a laptop ?

  • @Sang1337 Not to worry, this will work with any laptop, BUT you might not get surround sound out of it. THat would depend on your PC manufacturer. I'd check out your laptop manual for more info.

  • @Sang1337

well unless your laptop has a 5.1 sound card (which most laptops dont) you will only get stereo sound.

  • @shukero im looking for a headset for gaming can you help me pm me on youtube please

  • @MinecraftWeShalPlay Just did, hit me back if you need more help.

  • @shukero K thanks you.

  • do they sound that tinny when you are using them??

  • @10yrubikscubeguy No, the sound quality from these headphones is EXCELLENT. I've never had better sound quality than from my tritton headphone. TO be honest with you, I think these are even better than beats audio, but some people will probably protest that statement :\

  • i can't make the mic function...can you help me?thx

  • @papagalnebun I can't help with defective items sorry. The only thing I can tell you to do is to make sure all your connections are plugged in correctly, which includes your MIC to the headset (only goes in correctly one way) and then the extra wire from your headset volume rocker to the xbox controller itself.

  • @shukero "and then the extra wire from your headset volume rocker to the xbox controller itself" i have absolutely no idea about what you're saying. I have a PC, not a Xbox.

  • @papagalnebun lol, sorry I was thinking of another person. You may have received a defective product OR you may need to update your sound driver OR you plugged your mic cable into the wrong port. Try the last 2 before returning the headset for a new one.

  • Whats the bass like?

  • @FloormanUK very very good. I liked the AX Pro bass, even thoguh it wasnt that loud, but this bass is about 10x better than the AX Pro. Maybe not as much bass as you hear in beats audio headphones, but very close.

  • @FloormanUK it shakes your head! unbelievable bass:)

  • I had a question here before and luckily got an answear. Now can I use that headset with the Ax Pro amp? So that I can replace my headset but use it as before (optical)?

  • @TheOrbitalDropShock looked at ur (shukero) unboxing video and it seem that I can and use the quick-controll (or whatever you want to call it) from my AxPro since the earphone part is the same (except for the colours)

  • 100-300 price range....what is the best pc headset? simple as that? please respond

  • @SirRightAlot this one

  • @shukero your telling me there is not a better headset for $299?? this cost $129

  • @SirRightAlot that is correct tritton by far has the best build and audio quality and u can't beat true surround sound.

  • @shukero ok thanks alot

  • Does anybody know why this is like the only review on this headset. It's a few months old but this is like the only review I can find. And btw its a great review ;)

  • @Gtargui this is because they do not sell these in any retail stores, only at the gameshark store. The only reasoning behind this is that all the retailers still have loads and loads of AX PROS that are still selling for them. That and these are specifically made for the PC where as the AX Pros are able to be used with all consoles and PC's which make them a great buy for a lot wider of customer

  • @shukero Well that makes sense :) Are these worth the money just for PC?

  • @Gtargui yes it is. Much better than the ax pro

  • In the specs it says that you need analog output to get your sound and the usb is used for powering the headset...

Will I be able to get my sound via the usb or do I really have to have a sound card with analog output?

  • @TheOrbitalDropShock The usb is ONLY ONLY ONLY for power! This is what happens when people like the person below comments on something they don't physically own or know about :(

You will need an analog sound card with at least 1 port for sound. BU BE WARNED if you only have 1 port for your sound card it WILL NOT be surround sound.

  • @shukero Great, thanks for the answear.

I've got myself the Ax Pro, and have option to use all three outputs there (USB, Optical and analog). My brother wants the same as mine, but thought he could save some money on the 510. But apparently he can't because he hasn't analog output on his computer.

Thought you could get sound via USB since it works with the Ax Pro, but once again thanks for answear :)

  • @TheOrbitalDropShock Well your brother is probably wrong. Every desktop / laptop I've ever seen has come with default analog sound cards. Tell him to check his motherboard ports. EVERY motherboard ever made in recent times comes with built in sound. (at least 3 ports)

  • @shukero well, I meant for the surround. Of course he has that one for stereo, but there's no use for a headset like this if you can't get the surround sound really.

    Sry for the misunderstanding

  • @TheOrbitalDropShock Ahh that is true. Although you could always use stereo untill he got enough money for a 3rd party sound card. I hear that they are usually not that expensive; around 80-100 bucks :)

  • To everyone trying to figure out how to use this with a PS3 or Xbox, what is needed is a digital to analog converter. Like this one:

Sewell 5.1 DTS/Dolby Digital to Analog Converter, 3.5mm and RCA Output

Just connect it to your optical out on your console and connect the 3.5mm jacks to the outputs on the front it even has a USB port to power the headset. The only thing that won't work is the mic.

  • For all those still confused about what spicher17 said, let me inform you. Basically what he said about USB headsets is true (which this headset is NOT one) the usb drivers do basically act as a sound card itself and provides a virtual surround sound ecosystem.

Due to true surround sound headsets needing to pack in multiple speakers in each earpiece they need a lot more electricity, so in this particular case instead of adding an ac adapter they take power from your usb hub. A very smart Idea!

  • @spicher17 OK, FIRST you obviously didnt watch and listen on the video because you have NO Idea wtf you are talking about. I've had 2 other people like you that make shopping for new headset owners a PAIN IN THE ASS. So let me set you straight...

    1) This is NOT a usb headset. The only thing the usb does is provide electricity -- That's all it does.

My BIGGEST pet peeve is people talking shit out of their mouth; and you, Im sorry to say have your mouth full. Please do not listen to this user.

  • @spicher17

Well wow.. you didn't understand the sarcasm in what I said?

  • I am wanting to get this, despite the 4 jacks can I use this for my laptop?

  • @ufcchampie Yes you can :) you will have to use the green plug, but it will not give you surround sound, just an FYI. BUT if you do have a 3 port audio jack you can have limited surround sound. Just remember that u will also have to use a USB port for powering the headset as well.

  • I'm play on PC and PS3 so would I get sound from the ps3 with these?

  • @PrOdiGyViisto You should really go back in the comments as literally 100's of people have asked this. Apparently there is a surround sound card for the PS3 that has the 5 ports needed to get this to work, BUT this is SPECIFICALLY MADE for the PC :)

  • @PrOdiGyViisto On PC yes on ps3; apparently there is a 3rd party sound card that will work with this, but I have no idea what / how it works. scroll down the comments to pm the person that said it worked on the ps3

  • oooh backlit tritton logo :P :)

  • Hey, I was just wondering if you need a 5.1 soundcard to use the headset? Basically does it come with a decoder you can use to plug in through usb or does it only have the analog outputs?

  • did u mean to say dolby soundcard?

  • Three questions i would be really happy if someone can answer them!

    1. Is the hub included!

    2. If it isnt, Do i need it?

3 Does it work for ps3 and xbox 360?

  • Hey Shureko, im stuck in between this headset and the corsair HS1 they both cost the same, the hs1's have a 50mm driver in there also but its just 1 driver on each ear and i was wondering what u think i should get these or the corsair Hs1's 7.1 dolby surround.?

  • @xAbstractDesigns Well I cant say much for corsair since I've really had no time to spend with their headsets but from other headsets I've tried like razors, turtle beach, logitech and the like I can tell you that Tritton has them beat by far in both the sound quality and build quality department.

So in my opinion 4 speakers beat 1 plus the cords are uttilized very well with trittons. Try them out and send them back if you dont like them they have 30 day buy back I believe. check the site.

  • @shukero Thank you for info i believe i will try that

  • Wtf is a blueray soundcard?

  • @InftyFTW Its a HD souncard that supports 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound...

  • i got these work properly on the ps3 and xbox 360, they sound AMAZING! if you have these and you want to know how to get them working on the ps3 or xbox 360 or even to get any analogue 5.1 speaker set working on the ps3 or xbox 360 just PM me. :)

  • and yes it's not a music headphone, thats why they call it a gamer headset smartguy's :-)

  • Razer is releasing a 7.1 analog headset in 4th Qtr 2011 called the "Tiamat". This will be the very best headset for gaming when it is released. Until then, the Tritton 5.1 AX Pro and Logitech 930 7.1 headsets are the best available.

  • @Ninjawithaphone This is why I wish people wouldn't start talking about products until they've actually used them. First off, this headset is hands down better than the AX Pro's with better & bigger speakers and sound quality. Logitech is notorious for making great surround sound systems, but their headsets have always been lacking in either sound quality or build quality (I've broke every one that I've worn within a week)

  • @shukero Also, on to your razors; first off you need to make sure that when these come out that they dont have those proprietary ports that razor just LOVES to use. Second, I've always seen or have had horrible sound quality come out of razor headsets. I've seen some break in as little as 1 week after being bought which = bad build quality. ANYWAY you can't review something that isn't out, you have no idea if these speakers will put out good sound or if the build quality will be up to par.

  • @shukero NOT TRUE!! I own both headsets and they have exactly the same ear pieces with 4 drivers per side, just like the AX 51 Pros. Sound quality is exactly the same. The two main differences are the volume controls for each set of speakers (Center, Front L, Front R, Rear L and Rear R) and that the headset is now powered through USB instead of having to use an A/C adapter. The color is also different, but I don't consider that a major difference.

  • @Ninjawithaphone I'm sorry to hear that you have a defective unit :( Although there are the same number of speakers in each ear, but they have been updated from the ones announced with the AX Pro ~ 2 years ago. If you don't believe that the sound quality is better, you may want to try and get a new headset, or a new soundcard, as I heard a night and day difference between the two.

  • @Matio axpro would be the best for an all around headset.

  • @TheFailing1 I believe that these are about 10x better than the AXPro's. And better quality build too. As for sound these are great to have for any PC. I've had several different brands from creative to razor and I always go back to tritton. To answer the PS3 Q's all at once: This will NOT WORK with ps3.

  • how are these compared to G35's? I had the AxPro before and I liked it better than my G35's(didn't crackle on music) but it broke :(

  • @TheFailing1 I think the G35's way better sounding in games than the AXPro btw(it just sucks for music) that's why I'm asking...

  • Dammit. I just got mine today. Did NOT see the fact, where you needed 4 jacks.. cant use mine :(

  • hey dude i got pc and ps3 what u recommend i buy the ax pro or buy the 510 and oficial ps3 headset the will come out

  • I am about to buy this because of all the good reviews.

But...how good is the microphone? Does it have background noise?

    Thanks

  • can someone tell me where i can find some other user reviews :)

  • So is there a difference between this and the AX51 pros? I'm looking for a new headset as my AX51s are pretty much dead.

  • does this work for ps3

    ????

  • @klaitman14 No, you need to have the headphone analog plugged in so they will not work with any PS3 as that is not available.

  • works with PS3???

  • I use a laptop, and it only has a green and pink port for sound and mic. I think my sound card is ATI high definition or real Tek High definition one of the two for my Asus G73JH. First would it support this headset despite only having two slots or ports for the jacks since I see this headset has like four jacks + usb or an I just use the USB port plus the green and pink, would it still give 5.1 sound. Please reply and thanks for you're time and this video. :D

  • @Noxjuked No, you cannot get 5.1 without a 5.1 sound card. You can purchase a 5.1 sound card which is powered by USB or you can simply buy the AX Pro which has that built in. In addition, you should know that the headset will work well as a stereo headset without the 5.1.

  • How is the noise canceling ?

  • @dillonsthoughts no noise cancelling software built in, but if you are talking about drowning out outside noise they are good at that cause they go all the way around the ear.

  • Do the PC 510 HDa's come with felt earcups/headband pads like the AX51's or not?

  • @OChrisJonesO sadly no. But they are interchangable with the ax pros!

  • @shukero Sooo... i can get those soft ones (ofc buying seperately) instead of the leather ones? :DD asking cuz i raelly want the soft ones that AX has... but i want thease, cuz tehya re cheaper :D

  • The sound quality on this headset seems really bad for me, I don't know why.. I think the 5.1 works but the sound seems terrible.. Help please!

  • @parikjan sounds like you got a faulty one. call madcatz and get it replaced.

  • @shukero alright yeah That might be the case, thanks.. btw what sound card do you have? It might be a bad sound card? idk..

  • @parikjan You are correct in thinking that, it might be the sound card; a simple test with another headset will tell you that.

As for me, I have a special setup when it comes to audio; I have a gaming edition overlcocked motherboard by MSI which has "True Blueray Sound" built into the motherboard by MSI themselves so I'm running Onboard. I don't really know who the big players are for sound cards anymore; although with my experience with creative in the past I would refrain from using em.

  • @shukero Alright thanks man you helped alot!

  • can you use this headset on an ipod?

cause i'd like to use it for my ipod aswel

  • @mette26081994 no because you need a usb port for power.

  • is it usable with the xbox??

  • @ninjacharles11 No PC only.

  • is this comparable with the xbox 360 ? i would use it as a pc head set but id want to be able to work with both.

  • @Y0NGsTeRb0Y You need the Tritton AX720. It works with both, this one(Tritton PC510 HDa) is just for PC.

  • @DXman099 are they available in this coloring?

  • @Y0NGsTeRb0Y No, that guy is wrong too. If you want a True 5.1 for an xbox its the Ax Pro's and no, they only come in grey.

  • @Y0NGsTeRb0Y no

  • @Y0NGsTeRb0Y Please refer to the unboxing video for that; or just look in the comments as it's been stated numerous times.

  • @justdoit823 to put it simply Tritton makes the best headsets hands down. Both the quality of the product as well as the quality of the sound is undeniably better than anything else on the market. So people may say that it sucks because it isnt wireless, but to be honest with you wireless isn't the way to go. This is because in order to have wireless the sound needs to be compressed and then decoded by the headset causing loss in audio quality. its like comparing Bose to walmart brand speakers

  • @shukero Have you ever heard of Astro A40's they are by far better that trtiions

  • @00db3515 Actually I have seen those, but don't own them; that is because they felt very cheap to me. And to be honest with you they look horrible (design wise). I really didnt have enough time with the A40's to do a comparison but whatever floats your boat. I'd hope they'd have some nice sound for 250 bucks lol. I do know though that tritton's are built with quality, feel well, and produce very good sound. and add to that TRUE 5.1 surround, that beats any USB headset or stereo headset.

  • @shukero having 8 speekers crammed in to a small space will affect the overall quality of the sound thats why vertual surround sound is better for gaming headsets as the clarity of the sound is not affected. trittons are made of hollow plastics were as astros are solid and more durable i have owned a variety of turtle beaches, trittons and astros and out of all of them i have found astros to be far supirior in quality and sound but thats just my opinion

  • @00db3515 First off they aren't "crammed" into anything, and Tritton has done tests to negate what you are saying. As for virtual... well... its not 5.1 surround. Nothing coming out of 2 speakers is 5.1 which is find horrible that they let these companies get away with saying it's 5.1 with no 5.1 setup. Software can't fix what multiple speakers do on their own. I'm glad you like your A40's but I'll choice this true 5.1 $99 headset over your $250 ones anytime & we should know turtle beach is bad.

  • @shukero belive what you want, fact is astros have better sound quality than trittons, true 5:1 is pointless in a headset as the speakers and drivers are 2 small and crammed in 2 a small space it affects the overall sound quality, for a gaming headset virtual surround sound has been proven to offer the best sound quality and surround sound if you want true surround sound and good audio quality you need a home entertainment system, astro not sayin a40 are true surround get ur facts right 1st

  • @00db3515 You can believe what you want as well, but there is no "fact" about virtual surround being better than true surround sound. The fact that the speakers are small does nothing about the quality of the sound. Case and point: there are noise cancelling BOSE earbuds that have better sound quality than a lot of regular headsets out on the market. Your logic is flawed when it comes to small can't be good. Also there is quality control at companies for a reason.

  • @00db3515 You are basically telling everyone here that 2 speakers in front of you are better for surround than 4 speakers are; 2 in front and 2 in back of you... That's not logical, if you want to feel that you made a sound investment with your $250 headset be my guest, but please don't come to other videos and boast about it especially if they aren't even a true 5.1 surround sound headset. That's like comparing apples to oranges.

  • @shukero more like cherries to watermelons.

  • this will work with orange, black, pink, green, blue RIGHT and get me 5.1 true surround sound!

  • What if i want to listen to my ipod with these? would it work?

  • @4EricBrown4 yes, but not on the go and with only one set of speakers. because it needs to be powered by usb.
