  • I'd like to solve the puzzle, "Who is Christopher Marlo"

  • I think it would have been really funny if Alex would would have said, their you go you solved the puzzle!

  • Press 5 for the weirdest laugh ever!

  • I've wondered if someone did the reverse-asked for a "true daily double" on Wheel Of Fortune.

  • SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAJJJJJAKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!

  • Lol Trebek ruptured his achilles while running after a robber.

  • i would have laughed if he then responded to the clue with "who gives a rats ass"

  • I was half expecting "true daily double"!

  • I thought that was funny as hell

  • COME HARAE! XD

  • I accidently paused it at 0:16 and it looked like Alex was about to flip him off haha.

  • Question: What Did Dave Almost Receive From "Alex Trebek"???

Answer: What Is An @ss Whooping On Jeopardy!!! XD

  • Alex Trebek didn't act so tough when he interviewed Demolition and Jake The Snake Roberts at Wrestlemania VII

  • aww i thought the question would have something to do with the EHC show :'(

  • How is that funny? He made a completely stupid joke that didn't even make sense.

  • @Leishmaniasisably Actually it did make sense, Trebek and Sajak switched places one time in 1997 during the April Fools Day episodes

  • ha Trebek channeling his inner Joe Pesci

  • he did solve the puzzle

  • I'm happy the guy got the question right, too!

  • Alex Trebeck actually is a pretty mellow guy.

He can take a little friendly ribbing like that without blowing up.

I hate to dissapoint people, but he clearly found the joke funny.

Anyone who actually expected him to actually get angry, is pretty stupid.

  • omg may 30 is my b day!

  • omg may 30 is my b day

  • I'm sure that Alex didn't mind this a bit. I remember seeing a profile of Jeopardy via 60 Minutes. It was said that.they're always looking for that something extra that can turn a contestant into an audience favorite. This is perfect for Jeopardy.

  • @baarbear I guess it is perfect. Just for the record though, Alex sub-hosted Wheel of Fortune for a week in 1981 for then-host Chuck Woolery.

  • I wonder if that contestant watches Wheel of Fortune!!

  • That line wouldn't have got that reaction on another show that Trebek did, Classic Concentration, from 1987-1991. In that one you were required to solve a picture puzzle hidden behind numbered squares.

  • No deal!

  • good thing he got it right or he'd look like a tool

  • "Could I buy a vowel?"

  • That totally didn't annoy Alex. He was playing a joke back. Duh xD

  • I don't get it

  • At least he didn't ask to buy a vowel.

  • @Maniaxe613 yeah that wouldve been bad

  • @Maniaxe613 "Vanna!"

  • You sir, are fucking awesome.

  • Dave: Alex, I've always wanted to say this, I'd like to solve the puzzle.

    (audience laughs)

Alex: Come here, come here, you wanna piece of me?

  • heh

  • Anyone who thinks that actually bothered Trebek is stupid. Reading these comments I'm thinking... "Are you serious?! You actually think that upset Alex Trebek?" I would say that nobody's skin is THAT thin, but apparently a lot of you who have commented would prove me wrong.

  • $8000 on Trebek.

  • nobody in the audience appreciated that joke. they only gave him two claps at the end

  • @Likeafoxow What do you mean no one appreciated it, I could hear them roaring with laughter.

  • later in this episode Alex says to the same guy "that would buy a lot of vowels."

  • Is it just me, or are they always changing the Daily Double logos?

  • @wileyk209zback Every year, Wiley. EVERY year.

  • BAM, ZOOM!

  • There was an episode where a contestant got the Daily Double and said "I would like to buy a vowel. I mean make it a true Daily Double, no offense." And that's when Alex looks serious like or something at the contestant, looks at the camera, and says " Vanna!" Oh and the guy thought he got the question right, but no. It was actually because of a word that he just mis-pronounced.

  • do not piss of Alex Trebek...ever

  • @bpm1313 Don't do it. Kebert Xela will kill you if you do.

  • ghey

  • I don't think he was kidding when he said, "Do you want a piece of me?"

  • Wow. He was trying to be like Sean Connery there.

  • I thought after saying that, he would make it a true daily double.

  • disses trebek and gets the question right, what a g.

  • Well-said!

  • Trebek is not amused

  • Is he ever? LOL!

  • Very nice!

  • I think he was serious lol

  • i don't get it

  • tom Brokaw was a punk!

  • Alex was ready to kill there.

  • mad ghey

  • @Ushouldreadthis funniest shit ive read all day.

  • I LOL'd at Trebek's response. That was hillarious. xD

  • heheheh whyioughta.......

  • I wanna see this full episode, EHC was a subject!

  • lol - thats awesome.

  • dude! he said the name of one of my best friends! holy shit! hes gonna fucking laugh at this shit!

  • Who is Bill Shakespeare?

  • who is christopher marlowe

  • Who is,

    Doctor Faustus.

  • What Is,

    Christopher Marlowe.

  • Comment removed

  • Lol I love the irony of how he was trying to get on his nerves and then the question was about getting stabbed to death.

  • hey, take it easy there Trebek

  • hahaha-- great humor

  • this guy is a huge cornball

  • Another contestant trying to get on Trebek's nerves - and it worked.

  • @junkie4vids

Alex seemed to be amused by it, it was just a joke after all, I imagine Alex has gotten over that kind of social uncomfortableness in his days

  • @xxSpearMonkeyxx He probably got on the phone with Pat after the taping and jokingly told him "Someone thought he was on YOUR show earlier."

  • im 133098 wtf?

  • FUNNY!

  • lol thats choice!

  • dick

  • nice.

  • Christopher Marlow... that's hilarious!

  • i was really hoping alex trebek would actually throw a punch

  • @kkburnout I would

  • that was funny!!

  • rofl

  • Man, he's smart.

    Who knows that?

  • He was Shakespeare's rival at the time, so those who have studied Shakespeare may know of him.

  • Also, it was a major plot point in the movie Shakespeare in Love.

  • shakespeare in love. the movie with gwenth paltrow!

    man i love her.

  • Anyone who knows anything about the history of literature. Not trying to sound like a prick,

    just being honest.

  • i remember seeing this on tv.

  • I can't believe me knew the answer to such a random question...

  • LOL, I love Trebeks reaction.

  • Merv Griffin produced both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune.

  • so get off it

  • That was actually funny, the fact that the dude who said it barely laughed made me laugh.

  • wow that was so funny I almost maybe like laughed.

  • what a toolbag.

  • because in WoF, when there are enough letter clues, they usually say, i'd like to solve the puzzle, & then they say the answer.

  • to simoncaca:

it takes one to know one. so, i take it that you are an authority on faggotry seeing that you take the liberty on calling a stranger a faggot. & since i'm a faggot(i was called that by you, an expert on the subject), i guess that makes it ok for me to call you a faggot as well. i mean a BIGGER FAGGOT, seeing that you are the god & originator of faggotry. & don't go telling me that this reply is so gay because that wouldn't be insulting, now wouldn't it?

  • alex trebek: "what you say?? ima bust yo head till the white meat show!!"

  • You left out the end... If I recall, Alex than said something like "Your total is now $XXXX. That'll buy you a lot of vowels!"

  • haha, now THATS funny.

  • buy all 5 vowels!

  • 0:18 Whyyy I oughta...

  • he clearly stayed up the whole night before planning that clever little joke lol

  • dude, chill.

  • Don't get me wrong I love most corny/lame humor (no sarcastic intended.) But given he actually said "I've always wanted to say this" ruined it completely.

Consider me chill dude, but this contestant even looks like a guy that would be annoying to be around.

  • Listen kid just chill. It's a video on the internet that lasts 36 seconds it is not needed for you to take 1 hour to rant on something so stupid. Find something more productive to do.

  • haha ur just jealous that it was funny and u didnt think of it first

  • lol

  • It seems like he prepared that joke beforehand.

  • well, that would seem evident, seeing as he said "i've been wanted to say this for a while now"

  • Hey, thanks for the additional information. RIP. By the way, It's been 8 months ago since I wrote that comment wow.:)

  • Alex Trebek is funny!!!

  • What do Canadians have to do with this video??

  • Trebek was serious. he wanted to kill him. Alex is just like Bill o Reilley.

  • that was so random

  • You buy alot of vowels.

  • trebek would have dropped him like a sack of rotten apples

  • For some reason game show hosts have a rep for being totally badass.

  • Would have been better if he actually fought Alex Trebek.

  • I've seen one Teen Jeopardy Show, when one guy finds the daily double and says, "Hey Alex, can I phone a friend?"

  • lul

  • I stand corrected. He's from Appleton, WI.

  • Canadians are, and have always been, allowed to be on Wheel of Fortune. I have seen many on that show in the past.

  • Canadians are picked at "castings" held in Canada every now and then (usually Toronto).

Just because you can't apply on the website doesn't mean Canadians aren't eligible.

  • that guy kinda looks cocky lol

    but i mean thats funny

i have respect for him plus the kid who said the f-bomb on jeopardy lol

  • xela

    kebert

only way to send him back to anoather dimension

  • "You wanna piece of me?" I'll bet Alex uses that line a lot.

  • Yes, you're right. My mistake.

  • Alex did substitute for original "Wheel" host Chuck Woolery for a week's worth of shows in 1980. At the time, Alex was hosting "High Rollers". He also hosted on April Fool's Day 1996, while on the same day Pat Sajak hosted "Jeopardy!".

  • at least he got it right

  • His timing was off.

  • gotta love the snotty hipsters who haven't said anything funny in their life going "ummmm, delivery was off" *puts on their women's jeans'

  • Uh, dude, have you ever seen Wheel of Fortune?

  • WoW you sure can over think. I would like to give you a hint as to what it means, read the title, watch WHEEL OF FORTUNE, and try again.

  • "I think I understand what he means...'The Puzzle' is what Alex is saying to Dave, and 'Solving the puzzle' means he gets the right question. So when he says 'I'd like to solve the puzzle', he is determined for the first part of 'the puzzle' to appear. "

    lmao. dumbass.

  • You overthought this and you're nowhere near right. Jeopardy and Wheel Of Fortune are produced by the same company, and often shown together, and therefore associated with each other. So that's why a Wheel of Fortune-themed joke on Jeopardy worked so well. THAT'S the real answer.

  • ha ha... ha h... awkward laughs awkward laughs... you can tell that guy wanted to make that joke since he first saw the show

  • who is kebart xela. (family guy joke)

  • read it backwards

  • I know :D i was saying like the answer in the form of a question. such as

    Alex: "what do you breathe?"

    Contestent: "What is oxygen"

    You: "The stuff you breathe"

    Hilarity ensues.

  • oh man...that hilarity hit me right in the kidney

  • Sweet, that's what I aim for.

  • read what backwards?

  • KEBERT XELA - alex trebek

  • it was a reply someone, a long long time ago, who asked what kebert xela was...

  • lol the sends him back to his own deminsion, lol

  • Dumb joke but funny response from Alex

  • eveyrone was like hehehe..yeaaahhhh..

  • LOL!

  • Alex Trabek would make a pretty good stand up comedian with his jeopardy tone, ala Bob Saget and American funniest home videos.

  • bob saget was boring and has a dry sense of humor!!!

  • Saget is terrible.

  • Is this stand up, or Full House, or 1 vs 100 or AFHV circa 1990-1997?

    NO

  • Wow, you replied one year later. Maybe look at the comments. I was replying to someone...moron.
