Im sorry, but F the Hawks. The Hawks embarrassed Japanese Baseball in the Asia series last season....
Im a Chunichi Dragons Fan... Yes we were beaten in the Nippon Series... And yes it was the last season for our legendary manager, Ochiai, and we were very upset that we lost....
But that doesnt mean the stupid freakin Hawks should bring the B team to the Asia series!!! The Hawks got completely destroyed in a game that a Japanese team had never lost for 6 years!!!
I've been playing baseball for about 17 years now, I started when I was little. It's nice to see how enthusiastic Japan is about it, seeing as I'm moving there. Almost nobody from my hometown in America likes baseball, it's pretty sad.
You've become very japanese. That ambiguous (sp?) mix of good and bad, lively and nihilistic, annoyed and carebearish. It's strangely enticing, I have to admit, but it feels we can read less and less into you... Like you don't know who you are. But who am I to say who you 'truly' are or are not... I don't even know the answer to that question in my self. So tell me, are we all just pretending?
@Ciaela I use to work with these girls where at they do at games is buy the giant hands and fluffy animals and wave them around and when something super happens and the crowd goes wild they just ignore it all lulz
I dont think Ive ever seen you more excited and enthusiastic in any of your videos. If only you could have harnessed that energy to help out Mr Judo selling empandas.
@rctsos well I'm sorry but I didn't know that so calling me "stupid" it's pretty dumb. Also last time I check Soccer/Football was the best sport in the world not Baseball. :)
@RedSword69 It was tied the whollle friggin time, and went into overtime, and ended in a tie, We went early because Ryuhei wanted to see the practices, so we got there around 4:30, then we didn't leave until around 11pm.
Baseball is welknown among Japanese, I often watch it from Japan dorama that the relationship between father and son in Japan are strongly connected through Baseball game.
I tried being a Hawks fan when I first came to Japan, but I gave up on baseball after some of the stunts Oh pulled to keep his homerun record. Still, it looks like a good day out - something I should finally get round to doing...
Oh, I really enjoy baseball, and basketball. Two of my favorite sports to play. The japanese way of having a good time IS intresting, but I love U.S. traditions in baseball alot. Gotta love those sausage races! Or Perogi races! Houston Astros! WOOP WOOP!
After watching this, I have formed the opinion that Japanese cheerleaders are approximately nine thousand times better than Western cheerleaders, haha. Their pom-poms spelling out 'W I N' was, well, totally win!
Also, I like the fact that they're not dressed like strippers, unlike Canadian/American cheerleaders ... Ugh.
@PenguinSnuggles In japan, games arent named after cities, they are named after the company that sponsors them, or the major sponsor I guess, if more than one company does.
Not completely sure on the details, but yeah, moreso than even here, everything is named after companies that sponsor them.
Anyway, great vid, the stadium sure was crowded. I just feel bad for the janitor that has to go around after the game picking up all those yellow balloons...
I've never seen cheerleaders at a baseball game before... or sperm shaped balloons lol.
I was watching a baseball game with my mom a while back, and there was a Japanese player (I forget his name) and he fell trying to catch the ball, wound up breaking his wrist, and finished the play before going to see the doctor. He was hardcore :D
Wow! Japanese baseball games looks so much more fun. I went to a Blue jays game last week. It was quiet, people kept eating hotdogs and drinking tons of beer. And then got up to go to the bathroom. That was probably the most exciting part. Standing up to let people pass. Japanese games have much better cheerleaders and those yellow condoms looks fun! =)
Looks like so much fun! haha first time i've seen cheerleaders for baseball. matter of fact never really went to baseball games so i wouldnt know =/ haha great video! =)
Im more of a (American)Football fan ive been playing since i was in elementary school and 2 years of city college although i did play 4 years of baseball in high shcool not as exciting as football.

Some thoughts...
1) Why should I love baseball just because the Japanese people do?
2) Baseball is, in my opinion, possibly the most boring sport ever.
3) I wish everyone in Japan well. :(
