I like how you highlight the paganism underlying Christianity and how Origen could only separate Christianity from other fables by claiming "the devil did it!"
If the WCG was a cult HWA was the leader of a cult that went back several millennia. He believed we should live by every word of God the bible. You are living by every word of man in your particular philosophy and following those men. What is the difference? At least following the bible one can claim they get their info from someone who knows the Creator vs. men who THINK they know.
I respect your line of thinking more then someone blindly arguing their faith. Just one comment though, your faith is in the concept the bible borrowed from pagans rejecting the concept pagans borrowed from God. How do you know which it is? Because someone told you so? This appears to be YOUR faith.
What made you question christianity and religion in general?
I was so much a part of a culture, church almost every day and other events that just embedded you into that culture and actually in the beginning it was pure...but then all the baggage comes in, and you start to experience/notice contention, arrogance and hypocrisy but, I will pick a eureka moment.
A PBS TV show I did see in the 90's it was with Bill Moyers with Joseph Campbell about myth. Was eye opening,I kept it a secret from others for a long time. I was so impressed with Campbell and Moyers I think was an ordained Methodist Minister at a point in his life and Moyers really pressed him on the religious aspect and Campbell never batted an eye and responded with such confidence and knowledge that made my jaw drop but then you compose yourself and respect what Campbell was saying.

Great video. Yes it's pretty mind blowing how some people can continue to believe certain things despite any information that may come their way.
