  • #1.

  • i drank the whole bottle and i was to happy LOL,no hangover next day ^_^

  • Johnny Walker? Go Green Label.

  • I'm glad I got the collection pack as a gift. I enjoy the Gold the most out of the 4 but I would never pay more for a blended malt over a single. Generally overrated. Like Grey Goose, it's a status symbol.

  • the top blended scotch whisky is going in that order:

    1. Chivas regal 25

    2. Ballantines 30

    3. Chivas regal 18

    4. JW Blue Label

    5. etc....

  • Chivas Regal 18 leaves this in the dust, even for a blended.

  • @lastplacewin blue is blended too, lol eh..... It may put it in the dust on taste and price TO YOU, but the rarity isn't there.

  • enjoy the sip my friend. Here we're blessed with Total Wine in sin city and they have some of the best prices. I got me a green and gold for 35 and 47 bucks. So I'm trying all the JW line. The only drink I drink throughout the year is the Black Label. I tend to like the Green more except for its price which is usually around 50. This Holiday season I'm trying all. Specially their ltd edition of double black. Next is the Blue. I'm waiting for new year's eve to buy it at $122. You can't beat that

  • ok its good, but cost 220euro or more... and better chivas

  • Very well reviewed, most of what I hear is SMS drones, thanks.

  • It is definitely an overrated whisky , not even a single malt . With an average taste. So...Don't get fooled, in comparison with Lagavullin or highland park . J.W. Blue label is not even worth to spent your money .

  • I actually bought a 750ml bottle in tokyo for about 80usd , they put it in this bag and sealed it then gave it to me when I was boarding the plane , brought it home didnt pay any additional duty on it so i guess its all cool depending where its coming from.

  • Just picked up a 750 of green label. Has that peak spice that blue label has. Not a smooth whisky by any stretch. It has talasker in it so I love it. Thanks for the review of blue label. Maybe I'll do one on green

  • props brother doing this vid already settled in ...

  • Thou shalt not drink scotch indoors when the sun shines outside.

  • Honestly, were you half drunk when you recorded this video?

  • Brother I like your videos but you've got to upgrade your equipment!

  • Johnny Walker Blue is way over rated, and about $175 over priced. It is the choice of posers, stock brokers, and bankers. It is the favorite for those who don't know anything about scotch but they heard their dad liked blue label.

  • @politicalidiot1 incorrect

  • @politicalidiot1 Read Dave Brooms and Jacksons reviews on Whisky mags website. I

  • hahaha- are u Joseph Fritzl? xD

  • Fine review. You should consider at better camera though, IMHO...

  • I think blue label is overrated, Glenfiddich is better and cheaper. Or Ardbeg renaissance :P

  • one more thing I wish to say to fellow scotch lovers ? I thought you have to appreciate and like what you appreciate and like and not what others tell you you should like ... in that context, I guess ... to some Blue is the best

When I was new to scotch I thought it was the king of scotch .. but not now after tasting

there might be something thats beyond my comprehension about the blue label, that makes it so outrageously expensive and even 10 times more than certain decent single malts

  • I have taste red, black, double black and even blue .. missed out the green and gold .. my fav if black .. nothing gives me such satisfaction (and I mean NOTHING, not even the single malts) as the JW Black !!!

About Blue, I'd say that its definitely overrated (even more when you look at the price tag) .. I am not a whisky master but I actually tastes blue, black and red together to find out the difference .. red is nothing compared to black and blue is nothin extraordinary (within my knowledge)

  • its always about rare and special but i think its all bull shit its about the flavor !!! Blue is so fucking overhyped and 50% overpriced

  • @Arnoud1987000 sorry you feel that way cheap skate, but downplaying the best quality drop just cause you can't afford it doesn't effect the quality of the drink. it just shows your cheap.

  • i would like to see this guy announcing another excentricity of the material world....what about Beluga caviar??? hahahah! and yes...he got his "black" also....MANDINGO! hahahahaah!

  • hahaha, like the smell or something?

  • If Im ever rich best joke ever would be to go into a bar order a blue label and coke. Imagine the pricks face when you order that.

  • @Seaworldexists hahaha or cut it with orange juice or milk or something :P

  • @Seaworldexists i drink it with coke...

  • @Seaworldexists who says you have to be rich? i think it would be a great joke as a first paycheck spending! that, or at a corporate-paid christmas party... although youd get a talk down from 'smarter' co-workers about what you had just done... LOL!

either way... its made my to-do list too

  • after 1:54 it seems he is snoring ... some lines

  • This dude is so plastered... what a joke, you can't sample whiskey drunk, what a dumbass. He can't even taste it, I promise you, nor could he smell the smells he is claiming. He is not even good at trying to look like he's not reading from a script.

  • @agentbong138 Go buy a red label with your welfare payment you bum at least this guy has the money to buy his own booze. I can't wait to see your review on blue label.

  • this is an amawing blend.but its not worth the price.the johnnie walker gold label is the best value for the money.recomended

  • @aphasia2 some of us have money

  • pruba buchanan aver sila supera buchanan es la mejor

  • Overrated, Smooth, Tasteful, ego, posterity, generous, sinful, expensive, love, kindness, courage, stubborn, addictive, gluttony, pride, selfishness, manipulation, joy, alcoholic, sobriety, birth, death, life, and, $139.00 at Jons Supermarket in Los Angles California. Thats What I Think When I Think Of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

  • @wesleytaylorviadomus I agree overrated but at 139 or 122, it's a good buy

  • where did you find that set? I would love to get it.

  • its $22 bucks for a shot

  • You said "good", "smooth" and "top of the range" about 40 times...

  • Wish I can be you. I mean wow you held on to thAT glass for nearly 10 minutes. I Would have refilled it 3 times in that timeframe.

Had blue label 5 or 6 times in my life and they never lasted long :(

    They were 1L Bottle.

    BlueLabel is a masterpiece.

  • that is a great Scotch, my second favourite, the best to sip is Chivas Regal 25

  • Orkney? Hahaha! You got the plan, man...!

  • If someone could give me a link on where i could purchase the black, green, gold, and blue sample collection 200 ml that woudl be awesome!!!!! cheers

  • $10 a dram in la, good price then since you say 50 is the norm. Very good but expensive. I probably wouldn't give this to someone as a gift though. I'd go for a gold or green, more affordable.

  • In Canada it costs about $250. Having tried most malts around this price and under I can say this is the best of all. Whether it's worth 4 times as much as the Green Label or Talisker, etc.., I don't know, it depends on your wallet. But it is the best. It's smooth, yet very complex, and LOTS of flavor. Extremely well balanced, a lot more so that other highly prized whiskies, such as MacCallan 18. It doesn't compare with Balvenie DW or any 'bargain' priced malts in complexity.

  • I am a fan of JW, and I was lucky enough to try the blue at the horse track/casino during happy hour and paid about 15$ for a dram. I was quite upset at first because I asked for a small cup of ice on the side and when they brought me my drink it was like a damn blue label snowcone. I was able to exchange it for a neat one. I liked it but the price is very hard for me. I like black label for an everyday drink But my special is Green, My father bought me one shortly before he passed away.

  • is...goood

  • just got bottle of blue label from my brother in law who doesn't drink, really looking forward to tasting it

  • so smooth tastes like non alcoholic whiskey

  • Is it worth its price compared to black/green/gold? I mean the blue label is very pricy, overrated?

  • @mednos I haven't tried it but serious Scotch lovers don't rate this at all - overpriced tat.

  • @chrish12345 serious cheap scotch lovers you mean.

  • @triplestep1829 maybe : / I just know it doesn't have a very good rep, I'd go for an aged cask strength single malt at least if I was to pay this price, not somethin watered down to 40% and blended with grain whiskys

  • @chrish12345 doesnt have a good rep with you, in your opinion maybe. its far better quality than any single malt. as with anything in this world, you get what you paid for. dont be cheap and say if you spend less you get better quality.

  • @triplestep1829 "you get what you paid for. dont be cheap and say if you spend less you get better quality."

It's obvious you're not a connoisseur with that statement.

Truth being stranger than fiction, there are lower priced drams that are superior to some higher priced ones.

    Price doesn't always equal value.

Personally, from my experience and opinion (yes, I have had Blue Label), it's excellent but not worth the exorbitant price. Premium single malts, such as Oban 14, are better values.

  • @Watcher3223 no im not a 'connoisseur' you pretentious douche, im logical. there might be others of better value, but there not BETTER. this isnt a video about whats the best alcohol for dole bludgers, its for whats the best for people with taste buds.

  • @triplestep1829

"no im not a 'connoisseur' you pretentious douche"

Ironic, you calling me pretentious, when you were dispensing advice and even INSULTS to others as if YOU were some kind of an authority.

The choicest comment from you was calling someone else a "cheapskate" because they opined that Blue Label isn't worth it.

  • @triplestep1829

    "im logical"

No, you're a sucker. You're willing to spend the money on something while there are better scotches for less money. If you had taken the time to watch this video, even the reviewer basically says Blue Label isn't worth the price you'd pay for it.

Face it, you know NOTHING significant about scotch. What is being discussed is WAY over your head.

Just admit that to yourself and go away.

  • @Watcher3223 your a condescending douche that clearly has some bitter view of the world and how capitalism works. half your replies are just copying and pasting directly what i said. you cant debate. you cant form coherent and logical arguments. you are outgunned and clearly out of your depth. rub two pennies together and buy some decent alcohol you decrepit street bum and stop shitting on others who prefer higher quality drops. sit down, noone cares what you have to say.

  • @triplestep1829 "your a condescending douche that clearly has some bitter view of the world and how capitalism works"

And this has what, exactly, to do with the topic of scotch?

"half your replies are just copying and pasting directly what i said"

And the other half is my reply to your quote. Nice way to conveniently ignore the context of the structure of my posts.

"you cant form coherent and logical arguments."

    Cite an example.

  • @triplestep1829

"you are outgunned and clearly out of your depth"

Thanks for the laugh. Thus far, you've not given your contention any validity by proving it.

"rub two pennies together and buy some decent alcohol you decrepit street bum"

Stuff like Oban 14 isn't decent?

If your idea of decent alcohol is the most expensive thing you can buy with nothing else to indicate that it's worth what you pay for it, then it's obvious you've no taste and no class.

  • @triplestep1829 "stop shitting on others who prefer higher quality drops."

The fact that you consider Blue Label as being "higher quality drops" shows you don't have any idea, friend.

You think more expensive is better. People who know scotch know better than that.

"noone cares what you have to say. "

That's what YOU are saying about me. And, since you're taking the time to respond to me as if I seriously offended you, it's obvious that YOU do care about what I have to say.

  • @Watcher3223 so, just to clarify, youve rebutted me saying half your replies are just copying and pasting what ive said by copying pasting what ive said further. you have no content. your just using my words. im flattered, given the fact they have more substance than yours, but its kind of pathetic. and the fact you need 3 replies instead of my one also shows you prefer quantity over quality, which is where we also differ on how we drink scotch. i prefer a little quality, you prefer alot of shit

  • @triplestep1829 "you have no content. your just using my words."

Whatever you say to massage your own ego.

"im flattered, given the fact they have more substance than yours"

    Delusion knows no bounds, eh?

"the fact you need 3 replies instead of my one also shows you prefer quantity over quality,"

I'd wager you've not taken the time to read the replies.

"i prefer a little quality, you prefer alot of shit"

Then what, pray tell, is YOUR qualification for a good scotch?

  • @Watcher3223 fyi you dumb fuck, its received more awards for excellence than any other premium whisky, and won gold at the iwsc awards. unless you consider your opinion above that of the international wine and spirits competition connoisseurs (which clearly you do given your conceited yet clearly dim witted demeanor) then id sit down and shut the fuck up cause you have no idea. go share a bottle of paint stripper at the unemployment office you joke.

  • @triplestep1829 "fyi you dumb fuck,"

Again, your class makes itself obvious, or lack thereof.

"its received more awards for excellence than any other premium whisky, and won gold at the iwsc awards."

What rewards a scotch earns are your only qualification?

FYI, many single malts that do not cost as much also have earned many prestigious awards and accolades.

And, again, awards alone do not necessarily constitute value for the price.

  • @triplestep1829 "go share a bottle of paint stripper at the unemployment office you joke."

Thus far, you've proven in YOUR posts your willingness to fling vulgar personal attacks in a manner befitting a cretin.

Your praise of Blue Label as the pinnacle shows you don't know any better and are inexperienced as a scotch drinker.

I'd not be surprised if you NEVER had ONE glass of the stuff. You're likely only aware of it's price and, with simple minded logic, concluded that it MUST be the best.

  • @triplestep1829

    A couple of scotch suggestions:

If you think Blue Label is great, try a comparably priced single malt.

The Macallan 18 y/o sherry cask would be a good start.

If you have the money to spend, start with 25 y/o as that fits perfect with your mindset; The Macallan 25 y/o about 2 to 3 times more expensive than Blue Label.

However, the 25 is not the highest end that The Macallan has to offer; that would be their 30 y/o varieties. Then there's their "fine and rare" collection....

  • @triplestep1829

And after you've spent $300-$1000 U.S. for a bottle of very old Macallan, try their 12 and 15 y/o varieties.

You'll find that the 12 and 15 y/o are still exceptional and excellent value for the price.

Drink neat with non-chlorinated water on the side, preferably water sourced from the Highlands for The Macallan if possible, for bringing out the bouquet of the dram.

Take in the aroma, appreciate it and then take a sip and slosh it around on the tongue, including the palette.

  • @triplestep1829

Then, try other varieties of single malts from other regions of Scotland.

I'd just love to see you try drinking an Islay, such as Laphroaig, Talisker or, my favorite from the region, Ardbeg.

  • @Watcher3223 I can't talk to you anymore. your a completely oblivious wanker. you have no idea how to argue, and after being criticised for having too many replies with 3,. you go ahead and make 5. and continue to copy and paste my stuff cause you cant come up with your own material. as it happens I own and have had JW blue label and it tasted far better than any other of the dozens of scoches ive tried in my time. you didnt refute the fact that blue label was proven to be the best. sit down.

  • @triplestep1829

"your a completely oblivious wanker. you have no idea how to argue"

    Whatever, friend.

I reply, but it's obvious you can't comprehend. I ask questions, you won't answer them. And you always fall back to vulgar personal attacks.

"after being criticised for having too many replies"

Lame excuse for your lack of comprehension in your reading skills.

  • @triplestep1829

"you didnt refute the fact that blue label was proven to be the best."

Because you've offered NOTHING of substance to refute. What you DID offer is your attitude problem and your painfully obvious inexperience with this hobby.

There are great scotches, bad scotches and what's in between, but there is no "best" scotch beyond personal preference. Reason being: there are MANY distillers and blenders that make brilliant whiskeys, both with blends and single malts.

  • @triplestep1829

    "sit down."

    Make me.

  • @triplestep1829

The point: Blue Label is overrated and overpriced.

You can get equivalent quality for less by enjoying JW Gold Label or JW Green Label.

There's also single malts and blends of equivalent price, some even lower in price, to Blue Label from both big and small distilleries THAT ARE BETTER, PERIOD.

Johnnie Walker doesn't corner the market for quality scotch, but they're a decent, well-marketed and, above all, SAFE choice for those unadventurous and unfamiliar with scotch.

  • @triplestep1829

People who prefer Blue Label tend to fall in two categories:

    1. They genuinely prefer Blue Label due to individual tastes after experiencing other scotches for comparison.

    2. They prefer Blue Label, but more as a status symbol and less because it's an appealing scotch to ones tastes.

You tend to fall in line with no. 2, as do lots of other Blue Label fanboys, as you ignorantly decry other premium scotches because it doesn't come in a silk-lined box with a $300 price tag.

  • Dude I wanna try that scotch. the only scotch I had was Chivas Regal 12 year and I wasnt a big fan of it.

  • @slcguy801 CR 12 yo is really not all that good. Try the 18 yo, much better, or even better, a pure malt: if you like smoky, best quality for your money is something like the Talisker 10yo, for more floral, you can go with a highland malt, such as Dalwhinnie 15, or one of the Distiller's Editions which are usually a little smoother and sweeter, having been aged in some sort of port or sherry wood.

  • I bought a bottle of that online for $165 delivered to my home, BUT I got to tell you I want that impressed with it, I got drunk but it wasnt a killer buzz or anything and the hangover was just as bad as drinking Jim Beam. I know its probably a sipping whiskey bwtf is the point of sipping

  • I'm honestly not a fan because for the same price you can pick up Macallan 18 yr and we all know that is world class smooth.

  • @blitzspeer Blue Label > all

  • @Kadishona

Not all. A good single malt will always beat a blended, but JW blue is extremely good.

  • hello can you take a review of bowmore 18

  • Johnnie Walker Blue label is good......no ice........in a glass.....or shots....very good...does the job!!

  • I love how wasted this guy is

  • Would you prefer this Blue label to f.i. Talisker 10 , or Ardbeg or Laphroaig? Or Macallan 10?

  • Talisker 10

  • hahaha hes already tanked!

  • yeah he is, he is talking a whole bunch of jiggerish

  • @bethrocks right, I wonder if he does like 10 reviews in a row

  • LOL i bought a bottle for my 19th bday and got hammered off it in Canada

  • Good times!

  • just stfu and drink it already

  • i skulled 3 glasses of this nd da next thing i noe i was in da ambulance

  • Good review, Tom. I gave both my brothers this JW-sampler for Christmas. And I bugged one of them to let me taste the Blue. I totally agree with your assessment. JW-Blue is good stuff. But $200+ for a 750ml? Let's be real.

  • @JeanScallopsidi and it's blended too...

It's more of a status symbol than an actual high-quality lesser known scotch

  • Nice review .

  • Please review your amps. Upper one Fender, ain't? I hate 'em Fenders as much as I hate Glenfiddich. Over some years the guys always gave Glen as a present. Shit. Never had the courage to say i didn't like it. I like Bowmore surf. And I really like my Peavey 35W Tube. Jazz and Blues. Very clear and shiny but well balanced top notes. Greatest overdrive I ever heard. Once a jazz player told me he got a wet dick just from hearing the sound of my peavey. He didn't comment on my play at all.

  • you get most whisky for your money to buy a green label, really amazing.worth every penny.

  • what about RED? LOL.

  • Into the Lens AGAIN!

You must love the Drama album :)

  • Hey Tom,

Liked your review on the blue label. A must drink for a whisky lover.......

But for this money I prefer three bottles of Lagavulin.

Like your reviews, keep up the good work!

p.s. Are you familiar with the "secret" malts?

    Cheers from Holland

  • I got a bottle as a going away present. Probably the best gift I have ever received.

  • yea going with that set is the way to go. good review.

  • I stole a few drops from my supervisor's bottle that he hid in his desk.
