@MsGera1994 It is happening, regardless. The only question is making sure that all countries benefit from it as much as possible, rather than just the most developed and BRIC countries.
@sevengreenmice what about the National values of each nation? no one wants his language and values disappear. And what about the dispute between nations? Disputes will increase. the only thing globalisation will reach is Chaos.
@darkchamberofdark666 Terrible. The only country I can think of being drained is Africa, by China, and the only reason for this is US demand for exports from China and the Kyoto Protocol
Glottalization - Good or Bad? hummm glottalization kills the planet!!!! i don think its good...
every day cars co2 gets more and more, fabrics, electrical station all and more makes glottalization and every day kill half of percentage world ...:(

Just like the huge corporations that give us jobs and rake in millions need the majority of us to stay were we are living a 9-5 rat wheel life so that the owners and CEO's and shareholders can live their's, we expect those people in the 3rd world country to stay that much below us too. We dont want them to progress. Not really. Its business. Everyone is guilty of it, as am I, but I dont sit around looking for ways to pretend that its all hunky dory and were doint htem a fucking favor.
One fact doesnt change. Globalization is exploiting those who are desperate. That is a fact, and since we are all basically complicit, we turn the blind eye. Globalization works like a slum lord works in the slums. We give them some degree of opportunity so that us little consumers feel less guilty about wanting Nikes, but at the end of the day we want them right there lliving in the slums, because if they progresses wont our nikes become too expensive?
Hate to shatter your ego, but without globalization many people who work in sweatshops wouldn't have work at all. Also, working in a sweatshop =/= slavery. If 27 million people are slaves today it probably has less to do with global integration and more to do with regional elements.
@2ndprodigy How much would you pay a slave if you had to let them take care of themselves instead of their owner? Like maybe 25c p/hour? Maybe they can choose which shack to live in? Hooray freedom! They can even put that hard earned money back to good use by buying a can of coke once a week? Hooray Globalization! Just cause you pay them as much as they can afford to live no better than slaves clears your conscience, does it? After all they are doing it by choice. Not our problem.
@Tressiensia Nothing you said detracts from my point, or proposes a solution. You can say that these people need to advance their own domestic economy rather than working in a sweatshop -- but you'd be talking about an economy that wouldn't kick in for...what, 10 years? 10 years struggling to make even half of what they make now? Malnourished for ten years, or subnourished every week? You can demand that we stop outsourcing (hell, i'd like that), but you'd still be harming those in the third wrd
Why is it that all these students, college level even, have no notion of how globalization effects 3rd world countries? Dont you guys even think about this? You are students for chrissakes, have a bit more sense of responsibility to investigate beyond the face value.
@Tressiensia Many of us do. And many of us can see that the issues that plague third world countries go far beyond McDonalds or Nike needing to produce more beef or leather. And many of us can look at the effects that globalization has had on three massive -- and immensely poor countries, and be able to rationalize that while not perfect, globalization's long term effects have been positive.
I am not saying i am for sweatshops or child labor, but my point is by protesting these factories and corporations will leave people jobless, and with no money which would lead to them getting desprite and working in worse conditons, or starvation.
@Catstalker666 So basically you're saying; "The only way we are going to give anything to these people or help them out in anyway is if they make things for us that we want and then we will only give them barely enough to stay alive to keep making these things for us for dirt cheap. We dont want them to progress because we dont want our cheap source of labor that helps everybody, everybody in the US and the first world that is...." Typical fucking rationalization.
@Tressiensia Not exactly. what im saying is that they are getting more than enought to survie, above the national average in most countries. But they are in bad conditions. If we keep buying from them and they keep making money from us eventually, the people will demand better working conditions themselfs. Development. It happened in the U.S. and Britain. And it also benifts the third world nations quite a bit. People are making more money and they are no longer working in worse conditions.
Most Children in these countries that work in the sweatshops are sent there by their parents, because they need money. The Children are forced against their will because of the parents, it is sad but true. Many children who work in agriculture are working there because their family needs them to work for their own survival. They sell the goods to sweatshops, and companies, but are not owned by them.
This includes most people who have to work in sweatshops who are faced with worse alternatives. They arnt slaves because they can choose to leave, but they cant because if they did they would face bad alternitves. Alternitves for not haveing a job in a facory in a third world country are even less pay, longer hours and more dangerous. For Example Prostitution, begigng, and Agricultral jobs are all alternives. Many people without jobs there will die from starvation.
Children are not being abducted to work. Most intilectuals say they are forced to work in factories. This gets confusing and many people think forced is when people kidnap them and force them to work. When they say forced they mean they are forced to work because of the poverty they are in, and working in a sweatshop is better pay and conditions than an agricultural job.
"Globalization" as it is known in colloquial economic terms benefits the multinational corporations and central banking cartels more than it does the common people.... this is why the corrupt political class demonizes nationalism.
The powers that be want a border-less world of mindless consumers where materialism is the dominant culture. I believe there are some positive aspects but overall it is evil, and extremely exploitative of the Third World nations.
Thanks for the upload. I'm doing this for my exam and it really helped :) As for whether its good or bad depends on ones perspective. It can be good because it gives us access to previously unavailable knowledge but it's negative is that some countries feel a threat to their national identity. For example, I would prefer to be known as Irish but sometimes i'm referred to as European :)

Children are not being abducted to work. Most intilectuals say they are forced to work in factories. When they say forced they mean they are forced to work because of the poverty they are in, and working in a sweatshop is better pay and conditions than an agricultural job.
