Why the hell are their vocals always so low in the mix? it gets muddied up that way, and this is pretty high in the mix compared to the album cuts. I'm not saying I'm not a fan, they are starting to grow on me, but I'd like to hear the vocals pushed a little more to the front.

They do that on purpose because neither of them think they're very good at singing, so whether you think they're good singers or not, they just keep vocals in the middle of the mix, rather than way out front.

nah dude. the balance of their record totally meshes. now vox overpower everything. they use voice as an instrument which really adds to their aesthetic and gives them a bare bones lo-fi sound without being total shit. and they obviously have enuf balls to rock out all over the country and multiple continents. but your judgement is probably better than theirs and legions of fans and music critics. i think we all forgot you were the leading authority on who knows how to record music. forgive us.
