  • i dont get part 3 :$

if someone has tabs please send me in pm (:

  • Geart lesson, thanks and for you tab lovers try to train your ears, tabs can not help you.

  • I don't wish to start a guitar choice debates and there are just a few la grange videos here on yt, but the majority of them incorporates a fender strat which is exactly what billy used on the recording :)

billy's soloing is a bitch because there are more ghost notes in there that regular notes. I'm not a perfectionist but when I'm playing along the playback I just want to get everything billy came up with. I must say sometimes it's kinda hard to copy that little beardy old man :)

  • Thanks for the post

  • thanks very nice

  • Nice work. Thanks for posting this.

  • Very nice. Finally someone who gets it that the most important part of a song actually needs to be taught. I've found 15 different videos on how to play the extremely easy parts of La Grange, but only 3 to teach the solo. And this is the best of them all.

  • Thank you,,,, much appreciated!

  • Perfect Job Dude put Tab with your Lessons

  • wao man tocas bn pero tu video yo lo e visto en una pagina de facebook que se llama Guitar Cover of World hai estan los mas famosos de youtube tocando guiatrra mira espero que te sirva.

  • @mundo48061 speak english.

  • Nice work...great feel and certainly close enough. The Man himself plays it different live (as well as changing the timing of the vocal). This vid helped me a lot!

  • excellent job bro!

-to all the haters. Do you really think that Billy Gibbons plays the exact same solo twice? This is just to get the general feel of it.

now go learn some more tabs.

  • i love section 6 :D

  • whats that hybrid picking deal? i cant figure it out

  • @shane823 Using a pick and finger picking together.

  • Its Great!!

  • @MrHeavysteel of course its not perfect... its not supposed to be perfect its gives a general idea of how the solo is played which in that case people learning it can experiment and make there own solo or riffs or get very closse to the original solo, if you want to learn the real solo go ask Billy Gibson himself

  • @Topherg0453 Gibbons*. Actually i learned from this solo.

  • good job

  • @MrHeavysteel i think your right

  • Terrific lesson...........very helpful.

  • Every time I read a negative comment, you missed a note or that's wrong... I go to that user's channel and look to see if they uploaded any Video's of them playing ...NOT ONE! Loooooosers!

    Good Lesson Dude!

  • Cool lesson. Keep playin'

  • @dizzler666

u are rigth ma frend, u show us the way, we find the notes.

  • @dizzler666

good job man. I was a little disappointed you did not string it all together at the end though. I am sure it rocks when you do. And dont worry about the whiners bitching about you dropping notes or not playing it right. I have seen ZZ Top a half dozen times and Gibbons never really played it the same way note for note twice. Close to be sure but not always the same. You get to do that when you play live unless you are Tool. Rock on my friend.

  • @MrHeavysteel Learning by ear is a good thing, some people learn from sheet music and from ear and some people learn only from sheet music because they have no ear. As for missing some notes ( Sooooo What ) you were interested/ intertained enough to watch it in full and consider what you heard.

  • @daveusaz1218 Point is some notes are wrong but Most of the song is right.

  • @dizzler666 keep up the good work man!

  • the first note is a bend on the C#. the 11th fret 2nd string.

  • @kaidos123 Not bad at all, hell i just play the hooks and improv the rest<lol

  • chido!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dizzler666 I know, I learned from you first and at your lesson there's 70% of licks that are used in song. I learned te rest from lukesolo99.

  • I don't care what they say a little talking would have been nice

  • Great job with the solo, and also great job with slowing it down so that we can see whats going on, i saw someone made a comment about learning this by ear, and i just wanted to say that this is what was cool about this lesson, when he was playing slow, and i couldnt see where his fingers were, i had to use my ears to figure it out. Best of Both Worlds!!! Thank You

  • i gotta week to learn this oh shit lol

  • nicw playing man, but that sound is horrible good luck whith that keep rocking

  • Thanks.

  • Taaabs pleaaase D : Would help soo much more!

  • @dizzler666 I WANNA GUITAR WITH A PICTURE OF A PIE ON IT!!!

  • @RockGoodify Marshall tube all the way, with a Stratocaster, slight distortion, and the pick up all the way at the neck.

  • Niice : D do u have tabs would help me much more^^

  • he starts out the lead with a bend to that note.

  • could you post the tabs its kinda hard to see in black and white

  • can u post tabs fr this ?

  • tabs ?

  • awesome thanks

  • @muker123 bahahahaha dude this is an easy solo i picked it up in like 30minutes

  • @CMskater55

Lol, you should be a rich musician in like three days, keep up the good work!

  • @jrlawingjr1377 im felling some sarcasom here...and yeah just saying it's easy

  • @CMskater55 Thats fortunate that you are such a quick study, I just thought I might make a comment because a lot of people who might find this difficult, could be discouraged by hearing people talk about how easy it is to play. Sorry for the sarcasm, lol. Couldn't help it.

  • You forget to show how Billy Gibbons play the harmonics at the end of the song.

It's too difficult to do it????????

  • well done

  • nice lesson, bro. I agree with the coments, there is no need to talk during a lesson like this. If a person is ready to tackle this solo, no explanation should be needed for these licks. Just a quick look at location on the neck is all we need...

In fact we should almost try to do it by ear...

  • goooooood!!!

  • That was great. Just what I`m looking. Have added to my favourites so I can learn this at my leisure. I think I may have used one of your videos to learn another solo...May have been Sunshine of Your Love....I just remember learning something that was broken down into manageable sections.....excellent stuff mate....Good Job !!!

  • Very nice man. This was a huge help. Nice sound too btw.

  • Excellent tutorial, thank you.

  • good tutorial for players. i get frustrated watching most because people try to make thier instructional vids too 'beginner friendly'. I know that makes me as asshole, but I can't stand trying to get a little help learning a solo and have somebody telling me that the pick goes 'down,down,UP... down, down, down, UP!' ... thaks for just showing us how you play it. and yes, great tone.

  • @sunilthegreat right?!?!

If a person is learning this solo, there should be no need to talk about technique of beginner tricks. A quick look at location is all that should be required. :)

  • hey dude cool lessons but at the third part i cant see what u are playing, so i was wondering if u can send me the tabs or that solo or something becouse i've tried to search them in google but there are any like the one u are playing. so if u can i will be really happy =)

  • goooooood :D

  • God this is a lot to fucking remember...

  • sounds good to me..so what if ya miss a few notes ..if they notice that then why are they watching an instructional video????? I still learned a lot Thanks!

  • you can always improvise if you find a wrong tab or just make something up ;) thats what billy gibbons does all the time when he plays this song live

  • :):_@@{

  • Nice, but the starting note really is a bending, just listen the original.

  • Nice job....just finishing up with section 9, then get up to speed. Thanks.

  • awesome! great instruction!

  • Thx man!! Would be better if you displayed the tab so I can follow along better.

  • Thanks a lot for posting ! Greetings from Holland.

  • thanks man helped me out alot

  • dizzler666 this is a great tutor! how I can save this to my PC? or can I?

    Great vid Dude!

  • Great job! Got the feel which is most important. All the notes as far as I could tell as well Thanks!

  • thx so much for posting this :-)

  • You concentrate on the highest four strings which is different from my tab and yet it sounds a great fit.

  • ty for a good vid. i just found a POS first @ct guitar in the parking lot of my shop and im tryhing to learn la grange

  • Cool i just got an Ibanez and a laney 100 watt. :) Well im seriosly endjoy ur good lesson why not make more vidios?:) pm me if u do cus i will look :D

  • Buena te pasasta !!

  • Excellent ! ..I have been trying to over think his fingerings....Duh ! Very good job . Are you playing 9's. He is muscle man of simple phases. Only Billy can do that. Pay attention when you look at a leeson

  • exelent ...hey man what you recommend to obtain that guitar sound?

  • yeah if it were mostly chords and he were to vocally say ok its a 1-4-5 in the key of c thats one thing. but he is simply demonstrating the phrasing of the la grange solo.

  • ok i apologize, that was rude of me... you should not be sorry for expressing you opinion. il delete my response. i personally think when people talk during lessons it a. is wasting time and B. does not help you understand HOW to play. maybe if he were to say what the position is or what scale, but in a solo like this nothing can be said to help you understand how to play it.

  • great video.. very helpful

  • he lets his hands do the talking...awsome job dude

  • I wish more people would talk less in the lessons, excellent job bro, thanks

  • Comment removed

  • u have issues im just saying its a great solo and he did a great cover but i just like it when people talk. im sorry for expressing my opinion.

  • Great video! Hopefully I can learn this!

  • exelent video tnx

  • Is that C minor Pentatonic?

  • I've been playing this song for years in and with bunches of different bands. You play the song as good, if not better than most of the people I've seen play it. The negative comments ar probably from frustrated "wannabe's". Nice job Bro.

  • nice solo i rather learn by ear but it sounds like you got the notes right!

Billy G and Slash perform La Grange at Slash's birthday concert !!!!!!!!!!!!!! awesome concert

  • its good man

  • It was quite a job, isn´t it? Very clear to understand, it´s extraordinary helpful to me. Thanks.

  • That is excellent You did a great job showing the real speed and the slow version. The comments about it not being the actual solo are BS. I am pretty sure Billy (know) does not play it the same each time. A ha ha ha! Thanks!

  • can you please send me tabs PLEASE. great playing

  • wow your are a genius would like me that gave me lessons are brilliant in the guitar graces for your education

  • absoluelutly a excelent video!!! just a little unclear sometimes what you were playing but other than that you did a great lesson!!!

  • Thanks man...now i know how to boogie like billy gibbons! A Good camera angle is what counts when no one is speaking and this vid makes it easy to learn.

    Good job!

  • can you make another video and say what you´re playing

  • Dude, in some parts you gotta slow down

maybe you could make the camera face the arm of the guitar instead of diagonal

    ... that´s a pussy pick

  • solo was very off. but still great effort

  • why do people make videos about how to play a solo, when they don't know how to really play it???

    Try again.

  • excellent , but i believe the first note should be a bend on the 11 fret of the 2nd thinnest string , anyway . awesome , i enjoyed it a lot , THX :)

  • son of a bitch youre rock!!!

    the best tutorial!

    5/5

  • thanks bud

  • How's about playing El Diablo...ZZ has been hiding that sheet music...

  • Just buy the book with the tab and you wont have to guess how to play La Grange..You're pretty darn good though. And yes I might have to ge a glow pick...pretty awesome idea...

  • not even close...good try

  • Glowing pick, how ghey.

  • Very nice !! I had always been kinda timid on this song. No more

    Thanks again

  • Nice way of breaking it all down. excellent tone and precise playing. Thanks!

  • thanks man, helped alot

  • thanks u rock

  • thanks for the lesson! now i can play a La grange solo;)

  • Very good lesson and kind of you to go to the effort.

    Cheers!

  • great lesson man. tabs would help but just watching without them actually made me play this solo my own way so that's cool. thank you

  • the first note should've been a bend and not a slide, sir

  • i can see you like guitar hero 3

  • righteous dude. hhhaa

  • can you pleese make another vid and say what your playing? im trying to tab it but you dno what your playin' its dead annoin!!! :@:@:@

  • You're incredible, do you have tabs for this, or now any site where its tabbed well?

  • no sorry i dont.

  • WOW !!!

Thanks a lot man !!! I've been struggling with this one for a long time, and now, thanks to you, I can pretend that I'm good LOL !!!

    Thanks again ! 5*

  • I really love your tone ,could you tell me what amp your using?I,m still tryin to find a cool tone....your is what i,m after, let me know, thanks and great job.

  • jcm2000 50 watt head through a 1960a cab,

  • Great playing but can't see that clearly what you are doing.

  • wow man

im still trying to play this but

next time try to play it s-l-o-w-e-r

  • well it's pretty awsome but it's too quick u shud spend mor time on each section thumbs up tho man!!

  • man good job. nice to see that u can teach and play. keep up the good work!

  • pretty tasty...Thanks for sharing

    davido

  • nice job of breaking it down. i'm 62 and still play rock/blues in a band and teach guitar. keep up the good work and contributing to music. it is always great to see a good young player willing to share. with that attitude you should go far. post more lessons like this one where you break it down.

  • that solo is the shit ^^

  • thx man!

  • hi can you tell me the web page of the tab. of this song men pleas this song and you rocks

  • i didnt use tab for this

  • what guitar is that??

  • 05 american deluxe diamond anniversary edition.

  • yeah im with Thimpiz. after you do the first set of 8,6,8 on the low E string it seems like theres more in the full speed portion than in the slowed down portion

  • i appologize guys. To be honest if you had the ear to notice that, you definitly have the ear to figure it out.

  • well then just get it right next time and maybe i wouldn't have to point out dumb-ass mistakes like that

  • thanks, do u know the rock you like a hurricane main solo??

  • no, sorry

  • thx a lot

  • th you a lot, u have very good skills, and maybe try to tab it cause sometimes i dont see what u play so i invented it

  • This was a very helpfull lesson

Thanks a lot. And you have a realy got tone!

  • man!! u rock very nice vid. it helps a lot

  • can you tab it please?

  • YES PLZ TAB I COULDNT ET WAT U DID O 00:37

  • wow and super wow tank´s for your help but can you maka a video teaching more slow jaj

  • Thank you men !! you rock a lot !!! nice lesson it helps me a lot to play... sorry for the bad english i'm french ! Cya and keep playin bcose ur good !

  • thank you very much very easy to follow great job

  • this is very good and esay to learn

    thank you very much !

  • its hard to follow what you do in the beginning cause you hit notes inbetween, are those on purpose cause on your other vid i didnt hear those

  • Here be my mongo sunglasses and i'm about set

to get this down. Can you tabitha the musical notes?

  • no..

  • thank you sir 'cept that I'm a lady you'd make my beard grow straight and long now for certain.

  • pretty good

  • whats he using for the solo?? major pentatonic, minor pentatonic, blue scales what??? it would help me to know thx.

  • thanks alot, this is a badass solo. on sect. 4 are u hitting both strings?

  • the G string is still ringing while u play the high E

  • Very nicely done and works very well for me, I've read the tab and got the first part but using both the tab and your example its easy to learn the full solo

  • where can i find the tab your using????

  • i found a good tab at Ultimate Guitar tabs

  • I dont get the fifth section... U play it nicely fast but when u slow it down it sounds like shorter or something..

  • Thank you very much. I always wanted to know how to do the La Grange solo. I didn't know how to approach it, being sort of new to guitar. You did an excellent job.

Contrary to some of the others, I can follow a long just fine.

Additionally, I think that following along with you is easier than trying to use a tab. I tend to have trouble with tabs that have lots of notes and have to be played with a particular tempo and feel to sound correct.

  • Helpful video, but you should tab it out someday. In the video, its a little hard to tell what you're doing sometimes.

  • its good but it difficult men too fast...

  • is there any way you can send it to my in colour?

i can't see what strings your hitting sometimes

  • you are good .. tell how you do it also and thene it would be a litel bit easier =)

  • Well done. That opening riff always gave me fits until I saw how you broke it down, thanks.

  • Broken down nicely.Thanks. Billy is the king!!

  • Nice demo, I found it very helpful.

  • Thanks

  • all u need now is to put the the 2nd solo up, my friend does the second
