  • No composer has ever exploited the capactiy of rhythm to be cinematic in it's effect like the Red Priest. And for some reason, these works that you've posted of his for the Viola D'Amore seem to be unusually full of rhythmic 'hooks and holes' as Rock musicians are fond to say. If the performance isn't always inspired, it is always solid, and the great contrasts Vivaldi provides here make this concerto a fabulous post!

  • the sound is very intriguing indeed:)

  • loving the second movement

  • Biondi is even better with a viola than a violin. i have just spoken sacrilege, yet it is true!!!

What incredible sound. Biondi has outdone himself! This is the greatest italian violinist in existance bettering himself significantly!

    This is seriously freakentastic music!

  • I own Fabio Biondi's CD of all of the Vivaldi viola d'amore concerti and while he doesn't get the most resonant, lyrical sound out of the instrument he does get the most fiery, flaming, and all-around-awesome sound I've heard from a viola d'amore...which seems to be what Vivaldi had in mind here as opposed to, say, Biber or Bach.

  • Anything Biondi or europa galante does is worth listening to. In my opinion- it is worth adjusting your standards to. Biondi makes vivaldi and scarlatti (A & D) top of the world!

  • WOW ! Very Nice !
