how do you retime the appearance of text. i used lower third, and i have a long sentence and the problem is that the text doesn't begin scrolling for like a minute past where it is in the timeline, and then it ends waaaaay tooo early. any help is appreciated

I got Final Cut Pro X today.....I don't know why, i suck with video stuff...i've heard people say is more like a pro version of iMovie, which I did like iMovie...so I figure Final Cut Pro X would be good for me.....it may not be suitable for Disney or Warner Bros. but its suitable for most users...

@DvdXploitr Yes, but... FCP *used* to be suitable for these companies - they were Apple's primary customers for such software, and were willing to spend $1K+ on NLE's. This? Well, this is not acceptable for them; it's just a consumer product. There's a reason why Apple made a distinction between 'Pro' and 'Express' - to separate the 'pros' from the 'prosumers' and charge accordingly. Now that line has blurred completely, and, while the 'prosumers' have benefited, the 'pros' certainly have not.

A friend of mine bought FCPX and we tried it the other day. He also got Motion 5 and Compressor 4. It literally feels like iMovie on steroids......what the heck were they thinking? It is not adequate for a production house, far from it in fact.

That looks like Motion and LiveType content too me *checks Motion 4 and LiveType 2* - yep, Motion and LiveType content, good to know thats still there - And David, Final Cut Pro X has a huge amount of negativity because people like me started out with Final Cut Pro 1/2/3 and have learnt all the quirks of FCP7, and X is a huge change, so we're all going to hate it till we've had it for a year and it actually does everything FCP7 does (Every Pro has 1 feature they need that FCPX doesnt yet have).

I have no problem with Apple releasing this software, but for the professional video stuff I do it just doesn't cut it. I had to reinstall Final Cut Studio 3, I deleted it thinking Final Cut X would be an upgrade, but I opened the program to find out I can't import my projects from Final Cut Pro 7... ??? I'm not ready for X yet, I have too many people relying on me right now to make a big switch like that, maybe over the summer I will experiment a big more with it. :)
