If you really have CTS than you need surgery if it is too much. BUT...make sure it's really CTS. A lot of times, people have FAKE CTS and people told them they have CTS, but they actually had like a pitch neve in their neck or shoulder.

Also, some doc told me I had CTS, but I don't. I have wrist tendonitis and that feels like CTS, but I don't have numbness in my fingers or palm, so NOT CTS.

Yes, a lot of old school medical Doctor will tell anyone they have CTS if they believe it. That's the first thing they just think. Some would think harder and might say wrist tendonitis (which I have).

Then, there's some better Doctors might want to confirm if it is really CTS and not just pitch neve in their neck or shoulder. Because if it is that then you don't need surgery.

A lot of people that get CTS surgery and don't have CTS will have more problems after the surgery.

No thanks the surgery is safe and your symptoms are gone almost instantly. Just make sure you see a board certified hand surgeon. They do thousands of these a year. The sooner you have it done the better. If you wait too long then it takes longer for the symptoms to go away. The analogy is like parking your car on a garden hose the longer the car stays on top of the garden hose the longer it takes for the plastic deformation to go away. In the meantime use a wrist support when you sleep.

Lol, we have a former chiropractor in our office who left because he couldn't sleep at night trying to learn how to con people into believing that chiropractic techniques actually help. He's our physician assistant now and a very good one. You would make a great used car salesman. Just keep nickle and diming everyone. Hand surgeons don't operate on everyone with carpal tunnel some get better with anti-inflammatories and cortisone injection which you can't prescribe because you're not a M.D.

Sorry but hand surgeons don't make ten grand for carpal tunnel surgery. Medicare allowable is three hundred dollars. That's it! You nickle and dime everyone to come to the office three times a week for three weeks, then two times a week for three weeks, and then once a week for a month. Then they find out it doesn't work. Oh well... Ka-ching! What is the fee, fifty dollars a visit, then therapy for ten dollars, lol, yeah right!

I'm sorry, but I guess you don't have a really bad phobia for 3 inch needles, that they use when they do Capal Tunnel surgery? I do, and my neighbor who is urging me to go to the doctor and my own father who is also urging me, have told me this...why would I want to go for this surgery? You think about the nickle and dime, I'd rather be nickled and dimed, and be able to instantly be able to go back to work, rather than have my hand sore as hell for weeks and even more useless!

Well, depending on the surgeon some people I guess could get soreness for weeks. None of our patients have pain except a little when we take the sutures out. But I guess dealing with the pain everyday is worth it rather than having an immediate cure. A scalpel is all you need and an axillary block from the anesthesiologist. The patients can get back to work in a week. It just a ligament that's cut. I suppose you have your chiropractor take care of your teeth too!

Trypanophobia the cure is to have your mother slap you silly so that you'd be afraid of her and not the needle. I just gave a pint of blood and they used a sixteen gauge needle it felt great.
