OKA has been retired to conform with the INF treaty. It had a 500 km range, not 400. Iskander M has a 400km range. & I don't agree with u on Tochka's power either. It has a bigger power than the US ATACMS. It has a 482kg high explosive warhead compared to the 225kg warhead the unitary ATACMS has. So it has bigger fire power. The ATACMS though has more than double the range and is more accurate. But Tochka definitely beats in fire power.

This is technically not an SRBM as it is more like a cruise missile with GPS style guidance system with an error of 1-5 meters. The US uses almost exactly the same kind of missile for its MLRS the MGM-140 ATACMS. Which has better range than Tochka because Tochka is much older.

The problem with the Russian weapons is that the Russians don't leave room for improvements when they design them. That's why they constantly need to build newer systems, that need to be designed from scratch. This is not very good from economic point of view. Never the less, the truth is that Tochka is more advanced than any of its contemporary western tactical ballistic missiles.
The guy on the video says nonsense:fist LUNAs(3R9/10)have range of 25(not40)km,LUNA-M(FROG7)has 60,and although it came later it is a draw back(it's a larger Honest John).The two section solid propellant rocket engine starts to spin the missile before it goes off the rail,and leeds it far more accurately to the target.
The 3R9's missiles'start is also much faster than FROG7's(so the lowaltitude winds are irrelevant).However,the advantages of the older system define its drawbacks(the guy is right here):The chasis is cumbersome(and very noisy),the bumping the Missile gets while riding the missile erector to the launch site might cause the dammage of its engine's solid nitro-glycerine powder piece(not the nuke warhead that clown says)

OKA has been retired to conform with the INF treaty. It had a 500 km range, not 400. Iskander M has a 400km range. & I don't agree with u on Tochka's power either. It has a bigger power than the US ATACMS. It has a 482kg high explosive warhead compared to the 225kg warhead the unitary ATACMS has. So it has bigger fire power. The ATACMS though has more than double the range and is more accurate. But Tochka definitely beats in fire power.

Though Oka was included in medium range missiles category & was subsequently forbidden under the INF treaty. There was a proposed short range Pershing variant but it never came into service. Yes, but u can't compare the Tochka with the MLRS which is much newer. A fair comparison would be the Tochka vs Lance. Lance is the US contemporary Tochka's equivalent. And Tochka is clearly superior to Lance in every aspect. The contemporary Russian equivalent of the ATACMS is the Iskander, which once again is superior. The Russians just have better tactical ballistic missile than the Americans. Tochka is the best tactical ballistic missile of its time, this can' be argued.

This is technically not an SRBM as it is more like a cruise missile with GPS style guidance system with an error of 1-5 meters. The US uses almost exactly the same kind of missile for its MLRS the MGM-140 ATACMS. Which has better range than Tochka because Tochka is much older.

Yeah, but Tochka is substantially larger & it can carry more fuel. & still, it has smaller range than MGM-140. The problem with the Russian weapons is that the Russians don't leave room for improvements when they design them. That's why they constantly need to build newer systems, that need to be designed from scratch. This is not very good from economic point of view. Never the less, the truth is that Tochka is more advanced than any of its contemporary western tactical ballistic missiles.

The guy on the video says nonsense:fist LUNAs(3R9/10)have range of 25(not40)km,LUNA-M(FROG7)has 60,and although it came later it is a draw back(it's a larger Honest John).The two section solid propellant rocket engine starts to spin the missile before it goes off the rail,and leeds it far more accurately to the target.

The 3R9's missiles'start is also much faster than FROG7's(so the lowaltitude winds are irrelevant).However,the advantages of the older system define its drawbacks(the guy is right here):The chasis is cumbersome(and very noisy),the bumping the Missile gets while riding the missile erector to the launch site might cause the dammage of its engine's solid nitro-glycerine powder piece(not the nuke warhead that clown says)

Therefore the time the missile can be harmlessly driven by the machine is severely restricted,and you have to store them closer to the targets.However the 4axel ZIL they replaced it is a real piece of junk.FROG7 has just longer range,biger payload and it is cheaper.We shouldn't follow the Russkies to rearm with it,but to continue keeping in servise the 3R9/10s

Actually, the Tochka is pretty accurate. It has a less than 10m CEP. And this is WITHOUT the use of GPS. It is certainly superior to its contemporary MGM-52 Lance which was from the same category.

Actually, I was wrong. The Tochka missile doesn't even have by far, the one m accuracy like this moron in this vid is claiming. It has a no smaller than 50 m circular error probable. Its CEP is bigger than 50 m, that's for sure. But the missile, at its time, was without a doubt the most advanced tactical missile system in the world. Its closest US counterpart was the MGM-52 Lance, which was inferior. And in the present, the Russians still have the most advanced tactical missile system: Iskander.
