I think we can be a doctor/engineer/pharmacist etc. AS WELL AS a daa'ee, AS WELL AS a scholar. Allah (swt) has made the knowledge of Islam easy to gain and understand. This is a ni'mah of Allah. Having both in my opinion is better that only having one.
Thank you for sharing this...the woman in the end who had help made me smile for as was child saw much of this and now I become the woman who called....sisters are meant to be cared for in kindness always. May sisters learn from this if you do not stay home and teach sons kindness and care this man could be the result..sons need to learn to be gentle and kind from sisters. Jazaka Allahu Khairan
the Prophet of Islam (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Trim your mustaches and SPARE your beards."
So while it is about growing a beard, it is more about not destroying it in any manner, not cutting it, not trimming it, or trying to make it look nice (by shaving some parts off, or keeping it short etc). God will make it look nice, because you follow the Prophet (peace be upon him), if you do not cut it.
The only permissible time to cut it, is when it is longer than a fist length
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) told men to grow their beards, and also many do it because the Prophet himself had one, and hair up to his shoulders, like the Shaykh in the video. When you have a role model that's dear to you, you follow their footsteps, and listen to what they have to say.
All the prophets, including Jesus had beard. This is a command from our creator. Keeping beard is a sign of modesty which is similar to women covering their head. Also, forget about religious prospective. Can you picture a lion without facial hair? What distinguishes a lion from a lioness?
May Allah reward in the best way, everyone who contributed for this lecture to reach me.
Advise to all Muslim men (ones who surrender & submit to Allah's will): If you wish your women to be like Khadija bint Khuwailid RA then make sure that you strive with all your abilities to first emulate Muhammad ibn Abdullah SAW.
Advise to Muslim women: Make sure you demand and encourage the above from your men. Only then it will make sense for you to emulate Khadija RA.
Just the advise I need at this very moment. Jazakallah Khair :)

Q: what's the significance of growing beard among Muslim men? i just noticed almost, if not all, men have long beard.
FearlessSultana 2 years ago 3
Well I don't know what you mean by significance... but it is Wajib .

Hope that answered your question.
