@awesomelegomadness The "synthetic" music was the original music score in the Japanese language track. They wanted to make the 2010 DVD more like it, so that's why they jettisoned it. Again, blame the purists who hated the new score, not Disney.

This piece has such amazing brass, percussion and orchestra parts. It gives me chills whenever I listen to this song. I love castle in the sky! and I love joe hisaishi's music! excellent composer! There are three cues on the remixed score which I think are even more powerful than the original, and this is one of them. The original version of this cue was more harsh-sounding on electronic instruments, but this reorchestration is very strong; so much so, in fact, that it's hard for me to go back to the original version of this cue. Too bad this cue is edited on the album, though.

@Turnajon Too true. The song even had three variants to it: 1. Inside the fortress. 2. On top of the tower. 3. The epic rescue. Each one was woven together into a single, 12-minute scene that literally blew my mind. It's just too bad the scene isn't on YouTube, though... >_>
