  • It's a shame that developed countries like America giving aid to terrorist countries like Pakistan where money goes for expanding nuclear arsenals but nothing is done for impoverished countries of Africa! Even if fraction of effort is put here , it will change their future !

  • @chickenflu4 America has done enough they need to step back and worry about their own damn business. They have to leave africans and in this case congolese people alone. All this mess hapenning in Congo right now is because of the US so there is no need for them to act like they want to help with few donations as if they were not responsable for this in the first place. Congolese people will change their own futur not western countries espacially the US.

  • even if u do give money how do u now dey r usin it 4 da rite purpose. not sayin dat i dnt caree buh ppl r evil nd dey dnt caree

  • This is evil!

  • THE UN IS USELESS!!!

  • There's more profit for the U.N if the rape continues -- the people reporting on this (the non-african) make as much as do the ones buying the diamonds, oil, and gold from the rapist-soldiers and rapist-rebels.

    This is easily preventible.

Arm the Women -- Give "aid" and money in that country only to women and never to men, gov't, soliders, or rebels.

When women control the wealth and the weapons then the rape will stop.

  • oh my God , R u seeing?

  • This remind me 1971 Bangladesh and brutality of pakistani dictators.

  • women are people too men jsut think there just something to leav ein the kitchen pregnant & barefoot.

as soon as i get my new job i'll donate too!

  • just donated a little to the organization. i wish i could do more- no woman, regardless of age or gender or nationality or race, deserves to go through that.

  • Thanks for explaining people about this. I think the World can learn things about this

  • After recently watching the news article on 60 Minutes I was appalled at the atrocities being committed to these women and their children; families and friends. Later on in the broadcast a group of women were learning to make soap, were's the importance in that?

Instead, they need to be taught how to defend themselves with martial arts like Kali (a high speed killing art from the Fillipines)and to use fire-arms. The sooner these women learn to fight the sooner they'll be free.

  • is this continuing to this day?

  • @alkhazan

yes even now, one year after your comment

  • the average time a woman is raped in DRC is 3-4 times. i cant even once, let alone 3-4 times of being brutaly raped and mutilated.

women are always affected during war first.

  • Can you imagine experiencing the trauma of rape and then the unbearable trauma of your husband abandoning you ?!!!!!!!!!

The way us Africans think baffles me! Our thinking is the main reason why our continent is a continent of basket cases and banana republics.

  • @musyokat I find ur language problematic AND stereotypical . Let me tell u that as a fellow African, rape being used as a weapon and misogyny IS not unique to Africans. I really wish you hadn't said that. you just reinforced dehumanizing stereotypes about us, you should have done a BETTER analysis and theorized that structural inequality and chaos is are paradigms that cause great atrocities

  • the evil will pay God bless drc congo

  • So sad =(. My blessings go out to the women and children. Ayesha Erika
