  • Hi, Thanks for sharing this rare recording. Actually, thse two gems were born and brought in a small town called Shaam Chaurasi, which is in District Hoshiyarpur of Indian state of Punjab. They are known for soulful rendering of Raags, and especially praised for their electrifying Taans. In later part of their lives, they migrated to Pakistaan, but still continued to visit their motherland in India. Yogesh.

  • This enchantingly sweet but extremely diificult raga is the creation of Tansen's son Bilas Khan. Rendering a Todi with the Bhairavi notes requires great skill and only seasoned singers can do justice to it. There is a story that when Tansen was on his death bed, Bilas Khan sang this raga to him. Unable to speak, and before breathing his last, Tansen raised his hand to salute his son's genius!

  • Kamal hai; raag Blaskhani Todi, but Bhariawi Thaat,. Just use Ma shudh instead of M tirva. Beautiful raag sung by greatest atists.
