JESUS, what a voice! If only today's "singers" would put one tenth of the effort into trying to hit the note and get the phrasing just right. His is the voice of a vocal samurai. Accurate. Graceful. Very few vocalists even want to sound distinct and human. Most people just want to sound like the next guy on the autotune pop charts. That's exactly why they all blend into one undifferentiated mass of sameness. Tate still keeps his voice his own.

Aw thanks man! Isn't it a great thing to hear a real musician passionately doing their thing? So refreshing. There are very few bands I can say I actually care about after almost 30 years! This is one of them. They are not some 80's nostalgia act in spandex and leather. They are an evolving and maturing group of VERY talented people. They never seem to let me down as a fan. I admire all the twists and turns they've taken. I'm very proud of these guys! Peace.

I've been listening to Rock and Pop for the better part of 5 decades now...all the bands I've really liked and held onto, their singing is as much an instrument, masterfully used, as have been guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and so forth.

I am almost universal in my hatred for anything "unplugged", but I must say that was awesome. Geoff Tate sounded as good as the CD track. I will never say that an unplugged track was as good or better than the recorded version. But I will say it this time. The emotion of the song came through better than the cd...
