I love my Kindle too! Best thing ever! You can also convert PDF, or DOC files, etc to the AMZ, MOBI or PRC which allow for word searches as well as allow for text to speech which you can't get from kindle non friendly formats like PDF's.

The ipad is something completly different from the kindle. And the kindle 3 looks so much better with the graphite. The kindle dx graphite looks so much better than the ipad now.

Yo. If you like comics books. Go out and buy a physical copy. Support them. Making comics is a tough industry. They are already scrambling/scared as to what the ipad and kindle can do to them.

Apple has marketed reading on the iPad as one of its main features along with many other things such as web browsing, gaming, music, video, apps and document editing.

Plus have you ever heard of this things called brightness settings? You can use it to turn the brightness down and anyway the LED lit screen allows you to read in the dark and with colour.

The kindle 2 dropped its price a hundred bucks because it was being challenged by the nook, but amazon did not lower the price of the dx? i don't think the dx is worth as much as an ipad, but i still will buy a used one soon.

Why review and only show one page? Why not show a page of text and how fast they page through, not everyone reads comic books. I think if you are going to take the time to do a review, show more than one page! Show open screen, shop online live, show us the free books they offer, your catalog page, play the voice, geesh

@masterkillas the font size is very small on kindle because on pdf files the kindle only allows to do zoom (not increase de font size) so if you zoom in the PDF you will see the font size bigger but the whole text will not be seeing in full screen you have to scroll right or left . Maybe the Kindle DX doesnt have this problem due to bigger screen sorry for my english

@saqib09 You can read pdf-files on Kindle, but you cant adjust text size or highlight words. If the pdf-file happens to be written in a normal font size it will be hard to read on Kindle 2. That why you should convert them to .mobi-format.

If you upgraded from the first DX to the latest DX, does the battery really last that much longer? Besides global, any other differences/improvements? I've read that .pdf looks too tiny on Kindle and cannot be zoomed in like regular .azw books. Do you know is it possible to somehow enlarge it on your computer without losing the quality? I have a lot of comics in .pdf and would like to buy a Kindle for them but I'm afraid that they'll be unreadable even on Kindle DX.

I can read all of mine just fine on the DX. The smaller version I would have to press up, and click the arrow button to zoom in on each page and still really couldn't read them. Maybe ask a friend who has one to test one of your files out before buying one?

Yeah, it fits perfectly in a 10" netbook bag. I wouldn't put anything else in it though, I am not sure how durable the screen is. I simply take care of it.

Yup, the screen on the DX is only 10" a piece of paper's height is 11" :)

Actually I found that my brain can intake more faster as my eyes have less Left to Right traversal. I didn't think this was possible, or even think about the possibility until I saw it in the advertisement video fir the Kindle.

Thanks for showing the Kindle 2 and DX side by side. I have a Kindle 2 (the DX is not available to us internationally yet) - but we hope to see it become available to us in early 2010. I will be getting one for sure - My Kindle 2 will be my mobile device and the DX for home. Oh a I guess I will have an Apple tablet for video in 2010 as well! It looks like a great year is coming up.
