  • I watched glued most Sunday mornings to the band at their Chatham Parade Ground. I know why I play their music regularly whilst writing. Now aged 77, I've just discovered my RM Sergeant PTI Grand father was one of The Live Bait Squadron. This will be the BEST screenplay I've ever written. It's been there all along for decades. It'sll be dedicated to the finest infantry men anywhere. Thank You.

  • Regardless of politics, we should all be proud of those willing to put themself before ourselves in a voluntary defence / armed force. God bless you all, and for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, Rest In Eternal Peace. Thank you one and all.

  • I passed out from Depot Royal Marines in Deal 1971/72 .I beleive we were the first troop to march behind the band for such an occasion. The Royal Marines and The Band have allways been in my Heart and soul .MEMORIES

  • I agree the Royal Marines are the Best. Englands finest,

  • Always reminds me of HMY Britannia and the many, many people who were awed by the beauty and dignity of the simple ceremony of Beat Retreat during her years in service. Vivat Regina Elizabetha!

  • One of these chaps played at my fathers funeral in 2008, this very tune, didnt want the last post but now sunset has a very special meaning for me thanks for posting it. the best military band bar none.

  • The tune is sunset, the bugle call is retreat

  • It makes no difference which of the forces you were in this piece of music is the best of everything. especially memories, Wonderful

  • they dont overpower the band, the band plays quietly, and its not a brass band, as there are woodwind. :/

  • i love the way the bugle can still over power all the brass band.:)

  • @MrAndy979 it doesn't.......it's a bugle call...the band play quietly during bugle calls.

  • @MrAndy979 it always will! it's the Royal Marines! nothing will ever be better than them in terms of military music! :P
