before you cut down the new ones you better find out what you are talking out. I have ran 1998,2001,2003,2005,2006, and 2011. The new ones will bow the doors off the old ones power wise. The 2011 will get less fuel mpg though, and all are stock. We tag them at 40,000.00. I run them all the time
I did not say anything bad about the new ones. I said the people I know with new ones are disapointed .. not good not bad just statement of their experience
i think the 5.9 go to 07 in common rail versions. I have heard a lot of good things about them. the one i have heard people being disapointed are the 6.7
@drkllr Yeah, someone told me that the older models before they introduced the full quad cab, that they took a lot of oil, and with all the econuts out there, they decided to take that oil out making it less powerfull or something.
@drkllr i run a 08 6.7 cummins and im very disappointed it it lacks in all fields dodge is known for and it is always braking down maintained i miss my 24 v cummins. my stock 24v could pull more then this 6.7 with the exhast filter that the bully dog clogs up every thousand miles><
Just for the record after seeing a few comments. I dont wish to misslead. This video was taken with truck in 2wd in first gear. There seemed to be a question about that out there.
on our dairy farm we got a tri axle 40 footer goose and we stack 2 on top like u do, and we pull it with our 03 cummins 6 speed, man nothing like it. pulls it like a dream! CUMMINS power boys! p.s. nice to see someone actually putting one to work!
@ farmerbrightwell - are you talking bout round or square bales? Not trying to be a troll but surely u mean square. Trust me hook up to the load this guy is pulling and u wouldn't think twice about dropping it in 4 low. Especially off pavement.
I just wish they would put a 8 cylinder one in these dodges, getting tired of the duramax and powerstrokes beating this proving 6 cylinder.
Also glad to see a big truck being USED. I'm sick of these small penis' getting big trucks and not doing shit with them. I would love to have one but I dont need it. So i'll stick to my lil' v8 dakota(should have got full size for same mpg lmao)
I absolutely beat the hell out of my 96 2wd ext cab. I put 234k thousand on her and she broke the 4 auto transmission. I had an ATS stage 4 that was older without the hardened input shaft and she would have still been going had I not cheaped out on that 7 years ago. But I couldn't see dumping 7500 in her for a suncoast trans so I bought a dirtymax, great truck rides way better but doesn't get near the mileage the dodge did
I remember back in the 90's my dad used to haul his gooseneck loaded down with hay exactly like that with his old 7.3, nothin like a field full of hay
nice too see you putting 1300 to 1500 pound bales on there just to over load the trailer by what is that 9 thousand pounds im stating that a tandem with duals mostikely running 10 k axels, haha im a farmer and thats how its done haha, most definatley how it is done!
It's really nice to see one actually getting used. I was starting to think that all people did with diesel trucks was blow smoke at people! I swear, diesels have become the new ricers.
@caniwitech seriously.. hell my truck smokes but only when i want it to. i never got why somebody would wanna blow smoke at people thats just plain stupid
got to love those cummins I think it would do it since it did not strugle with this load I am building a 96 with manual andit will have towing twins I am sure it would pull that kind of load
triple disc converter ultra low stall all the upgraded shafts and what big clutches they offer make sure you have a egt guage your engine will work harder after the install closest thing to a manual. If you call they will walk through what you are going to be doing with truck and custom build for your use
lol Like the original discription say this load never made it to the road. just field to barn. I can only imagine what they would say if i rolled out on the highway.
we have put them on the scale they went from 990 to 1020 out of the field and they were checked three months later leaving on semi and the load averaged over 900 each tested out of the field 11% moisture . we love john deere equipment but that new holland 7070 baler sure does roll them tight
@neelysfarm what kind of baler you using? Maybe no way with an older chain baler, but like drkllr said new holland balers get them tighter than a nun.
