I respect the team and also George Steinbrenner, he was a great man and only now we see all the good things he has done in his life. Rivalries are fun and good for baseball but human life is more important than any game. Baseball would be very boring if not for the Yanks.

I a Red Sox fan so naturally I root against the Yankees but this movie or series is about an era, its bigger than the Sox or Yanks. It was a great time and I remember it well. How I wish I could go back in time.

Greatest T.V. program ive ever watched in my life. This was a master-piece and I bought the DVD set the day it came out. The actors/music/theme of each episode was just un-touchable. If you love the game of baseball whether your an old fart, or young punk, love or hate the Yankees, definitly check this out. Its one of the greatest T.V. episodes ive ever wit-nessed from front to back, and makes me wish I was around for the 1977 season of baseball!

This is probably the BEST thing new-england bias ESPN has EVER aired on their crummy network (well...crummy since about 2000-2001). This mini-series was awesome! And fittingly, it came on during the summer of 2007 (30th anniversary of NYC's great summer of 1977). I copped the DVD as soon as it came out... Anyway, I HATED Oliver Platt as 'Da Boss', but, I LOVED (PAUSE!) John Turturro as Billy! He did a fantastic job. The dude who played Mr. October was cool. And the Munson portrayal was perfect!

I can appreciate what Billy Martin went through in '77. I had a boss who treated me the same way. I got the last laugh two years ago, and now he has the nerve to have people ask for my help. I work somewhere else and stick it to him every chance I can.

What still surprises me to this day is how Steinbrenner kept re-hiring Martin despite the firings and threats of a firing. It's gotta be one of the weirdedst owner-manager relationships in the history of Baseball, if not all of sports. Of course, Steinbrenner's not the only problem Yankees skippers have to deal with; there's also the New York Media.
