I see that you moved your chipset pipes from its original block down to the board's copper block. Does this mean that with that chiller unit I can put those pipes on anywhere that I want without spilling any liquid? Sorry, but Im planning to move up to watercooling, and I'm just learning all of this stuff. Does that unit already come pre applied with that liquid or do I have to add it myself?
The only customization was teh Boreas was plumbed for the chipset and CPU only. The cooling for the Graphics Card was handled by the Dual Drive Bay Reference Series AT version with the HD3870X2 block on it. This allowed us to push the processor above 4.6GHz as well as push the 3870 X2 core to 931 and Memory to 1116 MHz
Brilliant performance, awesome price. This card is a must have since it's cheaper then the 8800 Ultra while beating it.Still Crysis is alive and kicking :/ .
Two HD3870X2 practicly is Crossfire-X with four cores, but the card will not support Crossfire-X physicly as it only has one Crossfire-bridge connector on each card. You can also install one X2 and two HD3870 as far as I understand by connecting one bridge to the X2 and a regular, and then a bridge between the two regulars.
3870 X2 can only be run two of, means 4x, but its slightly more powerfull than a CF 3870 which the 3870 X2 is, just higher core clocks, and lower memory clocks, orginal clocks for a 3870 is 777//2200
Spoke with tech who ran tests. The GPU cores were at 51 and 49 during the Canyon Flight Run. This was about 30 degrees cooler than our run with the stock cooling in place

cant you can only use 4 cores in total...since 2 cores are on each card 2 cards is the most that can be used...

I assume your 18K stock score was with the processor at stock as well?

Chassis and CPU cooling is the Custom Boreas MTEC Chassis which is based on the Silverstone TJ07 with the CoolIT Systems Boreas Chiller
CoolItSystems 4 years ago
A custom Boreas? I guess the stock Boreas can't handle these loads then...
I'd guess this was very inefficient and very loud :/

NICE ATi still has a little kick left in them, see if they can beat their competitor soon to come
The 9800 GX2, and if you're wondering tomhardware has pics and exclusive info about it, so I can't say that I'm right, but you can't say I'm wrong
