  • How can i connect this microphone to my computer ?

    with a usb ?

  • @TheDavy16 XLR canon plug via a mic pre-amp or a proper mixer.

  • Does the cage around the mic do anything or is it just to mount the filter on

  • i think. is the mic' good for a rapper?

  • @SymboletMusik I rap and today I bought a new Mic it's a "CAD GLX3000 Condenser Microphone" you should check it out. I'm waiting for my order to be shipped.

  • Which Mixer Or Interface Are u Using ?

  • can you reccomend any good/cheap overhead mics to record drums with?

  • @DrumFill09 I'm afraid not - my experience is confined to spoken voice recording.

  • @DrumFill09 No experience with micing drums I'm afraid.

  • @DrumFill09 Shure Beta 52a

  • Hi, I find your vid very helpful :D I might consider to buy this mic, do you know which pre-amp i should buy in combination? I want to use it to record vocals on my macbook pro. I hope you can help me, there are so many mics and pre-amps.... it gives me a headache... -.-

  • @GetnFunky Hi, I did some research on the net. And I want to run it through a FMR RNP preamp, but I still don't know which mic to get. How is it compared to Rode K2?

  • @GetnFunky No experience with the Rode - sorry

  • @GetnFunky I use an Edirol UA-25EX USB interface which has 2 XLR inputs - it works fine for me.

  • Thanks for the info. I'm not sure whether to go for this or the ICIS that they also make. Did you audition others in the same price range ? It does sound crisp and smart though Thanks again

  • @logixish No I didn't!

  • thanks for this, u happy with it overall ? sounds very clear !! about to buy the same !

  • @AllinMyGuitar What are you planning to use it for - if voice check out the Heil PR40 first (about the same price I think) - just discovered it - it's what Leo Laport uses - it's an amazing dynamic mic that that really good off axis rejection - meaning it's great slightly noisy environments. Just Google "Heil PR40"

  • @thepodfather thanks mate, I actually bought the mic and I am very happy with it, great crisp warm sound !!! cheers

  • And Why When i put head phones in i can only hear on left side with headphones on and everything else i hear with both sides

  • @GrimeSpraya Yeh - sorry about the one channel audio - this is me getting used to using iMovie! Promise future videos will use 2 channels. On another point - I notice YouTube has absolutely mangled the audio due to the compression - I overlooked that - future vids will have a link to good quality audio recordings.

  • What Is The Connecter Input?

    dosent tell you on websites

  • @GrimeSpraya Thanks for the question. The SE 2200T, because it's a valve mic, has a dedicated power box that comes with it. The mic plugs into this power box with a special multi-pin connector, and you connect the power box to whatever you want, in my case the Edirol USB interface, using a normal XLR lead.

  • Helpful indeed. Thanks :o)

  • Thanks, very useful. I'll consider what's been said here when buying a condenser mic. I am interested in knowing tips on how you managed to make your room work as a studio, how all the small tricks of getting ghetto artifacts to work like professional equipment, or near such quality.

  • @gasto5 When I'm doing a voiceover, a spread an old blanket over the table and up over some filing trays at the back, to form a sort of open voice booth. I stand the mic on this and go for it. I also spread old rugs and blankets on the floor near the table where I'm working. I also turn all computers off. This combined with recording at quiet times, and putting the recording through some subtle noise gating does the trick for me.

  • How can you record with your computer turned off? Some kind of audio recorder?

  • OK - i should have said "all computers except my MacBook which is nice and quiet and placed away from the vicinity of the mic" - I then use SoundStudio running on the MacBook to actually record the audio. However, there would be nothing stopping me using a separate digital audio recorder plugged into the XLR of the power box using the appropriate lead. Some purists swear on never using a computer to actually record audio in case it crashes.

  • Do you find overkill to build a small soundbooth
