  • A fantastic organist on a fantastic instrument!

    Greetings from Norway

  • That emcee at 0:05- 0:18 has more chins than a Chinese phone book.

  • Dick Leibert recorded two Christmas albums on the big Wurlitzer for RCA. They are entitled The Sound of Christmas and The Happy Hits of Christmas. He also did one disc of a four disc set of Christmas music for Reader's Digest. Leibert recorded two Christmas LPs on the Westminster label. He also had a 12 minute medley on a l958 RCA album called Christmas Holidays at Radio City Music Hall.

  • Such a magnificant organ and organist! it is now lovely to hear a REAL organ again:) Warm Winter Wishes - Denise

  • Dick Leibert also wrote a piece called the "Radio City Music Hall March" that I have yet to hear any organist at Radio City play. In my opinion George Wright and Don Baker were the best!

  • @TrjnMgnms10 Leibert wrote The Radio City March for the opening of the Music Hall. He recorded it twice once on the Reprise Label on the big Wurlitzer and a second time on the Byrd Theater instrument. This recording was on the Westminster label.

  • I have been trying and trying to find Dick Liebert playing Xmas music on this organ. He was for many years the organist at Radio City. Help someone is it on You Tube?

  • @Chesterbarnes1 There a few pieces on you tube just search "Dick Liebert" on you tube and you will find some --

  • Walt Strony really did a good job playing this organ at Radio City. I have been fond of theater organ music for decades and he is great fun! I was at the Christmas Show at Radio City last December, and the two organists playing together was absolutely terrible! What a disappointment! Radio City Music Hall needs to have the greatest theater organist in the world, on the greatest Wurlitzer Theater Organ in the world, in the greatest movie palace on the planet - period!

  • Is this they gou who insulted my baby by saying that "this was the world's biggest two manual organ"? Anyway, he's ok in my book and captures the spirit of live theatre organ playing.

  • @DickLiebert Aren't you at least embarrassed that you don't know how to spell your own name?

  • Walt RULES. 5 stars.

  • I was There At that Concert & All The Broadway Song Made Me Feel At Home Again NYC

  • Walt makes the Mighty Wurlitzer SING!

  • Who does play that organ if people like walt stroney and jack moelman dont get to play there?

  • What an amazing instrument the Mighty Wurlitzer is, it has a sound like no other organ..and a fine organ player too.

  • Aw man! It is a shame this got cut off at the end. Walt Strony always has something good to play. He has an excellent "Fiddler On The Roof" medley. I have no idea what organ he was playing when I heard it.

  • ouch!

  • If there were problems with "holes" and missing 'trems' then it is not evident on this video. As a young lad of 11 I heard of this organ in America that was the best in the world, now I know they were right. But Walt Strony what an organist, really makes this monster breathtaking.

  • WOW, What a sound, I know I will be at the next NYC concert that you do. I am going to check Radio City now for upcomming organ concerts as I never knew they did them.

  • It was a pleasure meeting you at Jack & Mildred's this past weekend. I was the fella with the colorful shirt and big earrings, Bob Wirth.

    You Rock, Walt~.

Thank you for playing like you're having so much fun - it makes me feel like I'm having fun to just hear it.

    Happy Feelings without a doubt.

  • what a disappointment that they cut walt off in the middle of the song. :-(

  • SURE !!!

  • Great to hear this fabulous instrument in your hands Walt. You negotiated your way around its imperfections with STYLE.

    John - Australia

  • Sweet beyond words. I'd know that organ anywhere.

  • GREAT job Walter...AGAIN! Although I couldn't be there in person I was with you all in spirit. The Grand WurliTzer never sounded better! You can reallly bring out those sounds like _______ could. Sure do miss the grand lady. Like I once told the management and sound crew, they need to keep the mics on that organ so it can really sing out. Oh, by the way, I see you're an Art Deco lover too like me. Godspeed. DL

  • Thanks everyone-I REALLY do hope this organ gets the restoration that it needs. It still has 100s of dead notes. This time I played it safe and used a miniumum of 8 stops, so I wouldn't run into the "holes". Several trems were also dead, including one of the voxes. So, to say it's a challenge to play is an understatement. If the organ were fully operational, in good tune and regulation(which it wasn't) - this organ could once again be the stuff of which legends are made! Walt Strony

  • Well Walt, you made the old girl sound like she was brand new even though we all know she has a "lot of holes" in her. Very nice program ... well done.

  • SPEECHLESS.............

  • Thanks again Walt for such a great show!

    Bob-Philly

  • Absolutely GREAT! It's so good to hear that great organ sounding so good. Let's hope that this will bring a big interest to get the organ back to full playability soon!!

  • Walt - my wife and I enjoyed you immensely at RCMH - BRAVO !

  • Dick Leibert lives! Way to go, Walt!

  • One of the truly great organists of ANY time!

  • Very nice, Walt. Very nice.
