Awesome!!!! I am so happy to have found this!!!! I was part of this parade event - it is a memory that will never leave me!!!! If my user name does not already give it away, I was inside that Dumbo costume. I have always loved the MSEP, from the time I first saw it as a kid. No Disney parade can or will EVER top it in my opinion. I was so thrilled to have been a participant for such a unique experience!!!

FYI - the Hercules floats were destroyed after this one parade!! Shame :(

I cant believe a parade that I am going to travel thousands of miles to see played just a train ride away from me and I missed it LOL. I Hope they play it there again after it does its run in Disney World.

This is gonna sound lame coming from a 19 year old male...but I got chills watching this. I was there when I was 7 and stumbling on this video really brought back my memory of that night. I love my parents for taking me. I'm going to be working in Disneyland next month. I can't wait to be part of the magic.

No, but I have a different Hercules parade from MGM in FL. "From Zero To Hero" Parade.

Dumbo has now been dropped from the parade, considering that Pleasure Island & Dwatf Mine are coming back + the new Tink float not a bad trade-off if you ask me.

what i don't understand is why something has to be pulled out of the parade in order to put something else in. I mean... is it because of time constraints or something?

I think it has to do w/ space. back when the Parade was at Disneyland it shared spacein the warehouse w/ tyhe daytime parade units

I flew in from Paris (as I'd left DL in 1994) to do one of the Cinderella court dancers (I'm in the teal costume). My last Electrical Parade was in 1993 and when they brought out the costumes for this event, my original nametag was still in the collar!

I got to dance in 42nd Street!

Wow, I remember watching this on TV and to see it again is great (the whole special itself was great). I remember watching the parade as a kid in WDW and I would love to see it come back, even though I do love SpectroMagic-this parade is a true gem of not only Disney but Disney parades. As for the special-could you please put up the rest of it.

I posted only the parade portion due to it's relavence to the theme of my channel. It explains a good deal of the history of the parade inside and out of the park. The rest of the special would not relate to my channel, but try asking the other viewers that left comments on this page the same question. At least one said the have the entire thing on VHS. I have this entire thing on VHS. It was a truly wonderful event and I wish they would do stuff like this now. The animated classics being released each year used to be such a big deal. I remember Pocahontas Central Park premiere. Those events were so special. Now they're just released with no fanfare. Just a commercial or two.

The reason why some of the floats went dark halfway along the route is because they forgot to send some of the batteries for thew lights

@Disneydanny The parade route in DL in California is only 22 minutes long. This parade almost lasted 2 hours IIRC and we needed costumers to walk beside us and change batteries every 30 minutes. The floats were not designed to run this long and they needed to use the motorized tow tugs to finish the parade.

@disneydanny2 Floats use standard automotive lead wet cells and are recharged between parades. Many of the floats needed to be towed the rest of the event when the batteries died. The use small diesel/LNG-powered tugs.

Disney should've saved these new Hercules floats for four more years, and then they could have been used in the Tokyo Disneyland electrical Parade Dreamlights Parade.

I'm not sure where you can download the entire program. It looks like one of those once in a lifetime events that you were lucky to see in person. Unless they release another Hercules (disney version) movie and support it like that again. I only posted excerpts of the parade as an example of that event that pertains to my theme of bringing back memories to those that enjoyed the Disney Theme Parks and Parades", and give new viewers the chance to enjoy it too. I try not to exceed "Fair Use."
