i must say i didn't see the point to this vehicle... but now I get it. I thought it was just going to be a Merc CLS competitor - but it's more than that. It's an A6 Avant (wagon) with styling that for the fashion conscious. The car is downright sexy - like a CLS - but with more utility. Smart!!

If you're in the market for a luxury sport car you should really go to your audi dealer and just sit and test drive the car - it just wraps you in luxury/comfort/sport - I sat in the BMW 5 series and I just wasn't impressed as I was with the A7
I think that the new CLS is way more beautiful than the A7. It looks much more exceptional than the usual Audi styling which hasn't changed much. Also the new coming BMW 6-series Gran Coupe is a better buy than this Audi. If you can afford this much, you would better be off with the competition.
I had occasion to drive an A7 for an extended period recently. I have to say that I sort of "get it" now. In a straight line, it does with an 8 speed auto what my Acura does with a 6M. And fuel economy in everyday use is about the same. The technology is a generation ahead of anything I have seen. The navigation uses a resolution and multiple technologies (GPS, 3G, independent SIM) that is amazing and very easy to use. I'm not exaggerating...navigation is a full generation ahead of all of them.
@GeorgeKnighton What you'd have to decide, of course is whether the fair market value of an A7 is worth the extra over the fair market value of an SH-AWD Acura with Advance package. My answer is no, it is not worth the extra expense. The quality of the vehicle is not worth $25,000 more, and Acura's reliability is much better. But...I admit, I "get it" with the new A7 and A6.

I am a single male 23 years old in SOCAL. I recently bought a white A7, i traded in my 2009 Escalde EXT. This car is amazing its so smooth and quite, you have to keep an eye on the odometer bacause before you know it your doing 80 mph.
MPG IS EXCELLENT, THE PRICING IS OFF. I PAID 75 K FOR THE PRESTIEGE PACKAGE.
I LOOKED AT JAGUAR'S XF AND BMW M6. BUT THE WINNER IS THE A7
I'm totally out of the target market but I'd definitely purchase this car (27yr old single male with no kids). The MPG is amazing and 0-60 in 5.4 secs!! Kinda reminds me of the Jaguar XJL, but the Google navigation and wifi connection seals the deal. It's like driving a computer.........

I'm test driving one tomorrow. I'm not a huge car guy, so I don't really care about performance. (HP, Traction). I do love the 28 mpg, Quattro, and the look! Here in the Bay Area, a lot of people have 5 Series, Benz, and G35s or 37s. I think it's the best looking car within my budget. (I am stretching it with this purchase.)
With all that said, should I still buy it? Since it's a huge purchase, this will be my car for life.

If you want to pay 80k on a car when your getting the same options you can get in a 30k car, then go ahead.

Or you could get a beautiful, powerful, and reliable infiniti m56s. How many post-2000 mercs, jags, bmw, porsches do you see on the road? You don't even see any audi at all. Why? Cause they have no reliability.
Typical German cars, small engine and a big price, not to mention German reliability lol. I would much rather have the beautifully crafted Infiniti M56 for the price of this car at $66k.
@Mik5OO Sorry, Infiniti is way better looking has an aggressive stance to it, all Audi's look the same. The interior of this car is really cheap looking for the price, looks almost like a Kia inside.

Personally, I'm not the biggest Audi fan, much prefer Mercs and Alfas, but it's a well known FACT Audi makes best interiors, period.

The supercharged 6 is nice, but wouldn't a turbo or twin turbo 6 been better for fuel economy and power? No parasitic losses like you get with a supercharger...
Looks like the target market will be for ppl in their mid 40's and up. I'm not a fan of huge cars, but I am a fan of Audi and I think they did a nice job with the A7
@cornstarch39 I've never ridden in an Audi, but I have in an STI & it was such a great ride. I can't compare the two because like I wrote I've never experienced Audi's Quattro, but I do hear nice things about it.
@SeeBillyRun Yeah, Subaru's all wheel drive is extremely good though. My family rented one up in Yellowstone and it handled very nicely, and felt very secure. However, my family has been driving Audis forever, and I really think that Quattro is the best. Especially the A7, I think it's handling is awesome. You should test drive it and see for yourself.

Typical German cars, small engine and a big price, not to mention German reliability lol. I would much rather have the beautifully crafted Infiniti M56 for the price of this car at $66k.

@Mik5OO Sorry, Infiniti is way better looking has an aggressive stance to it, all Audi's look the same. The interior of this car is really cheap looking for the price, looks almost like a Kia inside.

@noriceformeplz Don't even mention Infiniti: It's terrible in every way, you would have to be mad beyond comprehension to even consider about buying one.
Personally, I'm not the biggest Audi fan, much prefer Mercs and Alfas, but it's a well known FACT Audi makes best interiors, period.
And one more thing, if you expect a Nissan to be more "reliable" than any German car, you can only: 1) work for Nissan or 2) be stupid

@shagy2k5 Well I think later on this year it would stand a chance because Audi will be introducing the S-models pretty soon but I cant wait to see how would it look on the A7-S or the RS7 with the V-8 it will be in a good competition....

The supercharged 6 is nice, but wouldn't a turbo or twin turbo 6 been better for fuel economy and power? No parasitic losses like you get with a supercharger...

This car is very nice. My father owns a 2009 Audi A8 and he loves it. His lease is almost up and he is looking at the new Audi A7. I am so excited!

Looks like the target market will be for ppl in their mid 40's and up. I'm not a fan of huge cars, but I am a fan of Audi and I think they did a nice job with the A7

@cornstarch39 I've never ridden in an Audi, but I have in an STI & it was such a great ride. I can't compare the two because like I wrote I've never experienced Audi's Quattro, but I do hear nice things about it.

@SeeBillyRun Yeah, Subaru's all wheel drive is extremely good though. My family rented one up in Yellowstone and it handled very nicely, and felt very secure. However, my family has been driving Audis forever, and I really think that Quattro is the best. Especially the A7, I think it's handling is awesome. You should test drive it and see for yourself.

@cornstarch39 That's a good idea. My Birthday is coming up in 2 months, so renting an Audi for a weekend would be a nice gift to give myself..., but I'll have to start saving up for it though... haha. My old boss had an S4 & he gave my friend a ride, my buddy told me that thing flew like a rocket.
