I only heard recentlythat we'd all lost Andrew Gold and I was absolutely gutted to hear that he'd been taken at such a stupidly young age. His memory and his music will always be with me.
@SuperGov07 freddie mercury, jimmy hendrix, michael jackson and on the list goes..... These are the people who colour in our world, who hang a curtain of music to backdrop our memories on our paths through life we should be so grateful to them for what they give to the world, when you think about it, its strange enough humans can think and talk but song could be unique to humankind in the whole universe.
how comes we just dont here music like this anymore! i mean from 1990 onwards its been cobblers all the way with the occasional half decent one now n again, this is so good .
Havent heard this song for 35 years...cant begin to talk of the wonderful innocence this brings to my heart. A truely wonderful time in music history. And in my history too. Thanks so much The videoJukebox1 : )
More talented than Lennon-McCartney combined an ace writer and arranger, his songs are timeless and there should be a supreme being somewhere making sure that people like Andrew Gold do not die. A fantastically talented person who will be sadly missed.
I bought this album in 1978 and I am back together with the love of my life from 1978 after 30 years apart. Thank you Andrew Gold for such a beautiful song.
I am so sad to learn of Andrew Gold's passing. His words and music got me through some thought teen years. More than 30 years later, it still sounds great to me. Rest in peace.
My veetle channel has several radio shows. My "Jeff Michaels Show" is a music lovers dream, lots of great music and info on the music. There'll be a tribute on him next week!
God Bless Andrew,My Partner Jan and I will be raising a glass of wine to you tonight remembering it was the first record we played when we got together in 1978.We will never forget you.
ah ffs.. I was looking up David Essex cos I saw him on Eastenders.. And then got to thinking about this song.. Looked it up only to find out he died yesterday... I'm gonna play a tribute for you on Saturday night Andrew.. RIP...
Great musician & song. This is from his GREAT 1978 album, "All This And Heaven Too". I heard this song was a big hit in Europe, but not so much here, should have been. Hard not to sing along with this song.
@splodgebody Says YOU!! These old and forgotten songs are what the stuff of life is made of. Learn to separate your opinion from what may mean something to others.
Reminds me of my lovely girl in the USA. Miss her so much.
