  • We have been visited by the FCC. It really depends which agent does the visit. They are familiar with these radios as well as local codes for safety. This is on a commercial facility. For insurance we also have the backing of the Sheriff who has power and authority over any FCC issuance in the future - which the FCC agents actually admitted they have been thrown off properties by a county sheriff in other states.

  • @zappatx There are FCC regulations and then there are enforcement actions. Enforcement actions are subject to due process such as warrants. Part 15.290 definitely gives the FCC the right of inspection but that right can only be enforced with an order of the court. The downside is failure to permit inspection is in itself a violation. It's pretty safe bet if the FCC has went to the trouble of getting a warrant, there will be penalties which are draconian.

  • Pardon the observation, but your antenna and ground lead appear to exceed 3 meters in length.

  • @MichaelJGrant Sorry, but the only thing that's too long is the power cable which doesn't count under part 15 AM. The transmitter is all in in that box and the antenna is sticking out of the top.
