  • I feel like this could have been adequately summarized in about a quarter of the time. And preferably with better graphics.

  • Hi jon priest from computing :^]

  • wat

  • What the hell am i watching?!

  • i love this video so damn much.

  • thumbs up so your networking professor will see this comment when he plays it for the class!

FUCK YOU PROFESSOR YOUR TESTS ARE TOO HARD!!FUCK YOU PROFESSOR YOUR TESTS ARE TOO HARD!!FUCK YOU PROFESSOR YOUR TESTS ARE TOO HARD!!FUCK YOU PROFESSOR YOUR TESTS ARE TOO HARD!!FUCK YOU PROFESSOR YOUR TESTS ARE TOO HARD!!FUCK YOU PROFESSOR YOUR TESTS ARE TOO HARD!!FUCK YOU PROFESSOR YOUR TESTS ARE TOO HARD!!FUCK YOU PROFESSOR YOUR TESTS ARE TOO HARD!!FUCK YOU PROFESSOR YOUR TESTS ARE TOO HARD!!FUCK !!!!!

  • thumbs up if your networking professor made you watch this.

  • @jmatic Change the video title to 'net' instead of .net dude!

  • I bet that this video has the most views because it has the word 'cool' in the description and society is full of sheeple. Perhaps it is also because it's in the top of the list. Why did this guy write .Net instead of 'net'? There's a big difference buddy! You're misguiding everyone who is looking for a .net tutorial!

  • hi jon priest from computing! =^]

  • awesome!

  • haha that was pretty cool :)

  • anyone made a dutch documentation on it ? I need it XD

  • @Thooropp92 Wtf dude? You are studying IT and you don't know English? I could write a subtitled version if you want.

  • @0x28 Don't worry ofcourse I know english, i'm just not good @ theory and learning it all through english is more of an obstacle.

  • @Thooropp92 I recommend the book 'HeadFirst Servlet's & JSP'. That, or another book on metacognition; learning about learning. Learning can be learned. =)

  • 34 people can't figure out how a network works

  • @Thooropp92 Or they were probably looking for a .net video and they found this.

  • extremely cool video of how a package moving through a network

  • how pimp

  • "Finally, though all animations often have simplifications in them, there is one outright error in the video. About 5 minutes in, the statement is made "What happens when Mr. IP doesn't receive an acknowledgement, he simply sends a replacement packet." As you will find out in later chapters, this is not a function of the Layer 3 Internet Protocol, which is an "unreliable", best effort delivery protocol, but rather a function of the Transport Layer TCP Protocol."

    CISCO CCNA exploration

  • How does someone make a video like this, and not have the firewall actually be a wall of fire?

  • 200 penonton adalah elektroteknik itb 2010

  • Warriors of the Net??? More like gimps of the net, "they go off blissfully into the sunset knowing they have served their masters well???" and apparently sex is wrong as well, the voiceover is cringingly smug, *shudder*

  • @Shorttbread this is a just a brief example and isn't meant to go into to much depth. Either way it still gives a general understanding of how the internet works.

  • @Shorttbread You must have sexual problems. lol

  • LOL. Nice vid.

  • need moar interweb

  • lol this is such a gay 90' video... was probably made to make big corporate spenders invest in the internet

  • our prof wants us to make our own reaction paper.. is there a link for a fucckkking reaction that i can copy paste haha..,.

  • @EnchoBikas25 EAC....

  • In the computing class we seen this video, the first time I sleep, the second one I died...

  • We'll have none of that... ^_^

  • very well

    thanks

  • Well done ! but perhaps too much jargon for the beginners.

  • best part of this was the MUSIC! rest was boring

  • retransmission is done by the TCP part of the TCP/IP stack (layer 4 of OSI) .

  • crappy if you're serious about networking -- teaches nothing

  • IP alone does not retransmit lost/failed packets as it's a non-acknowledged "connectionless" protocol

  • the firewall looks like a Borg ship

  • dude this was sssssoooo informative...i liked it very much. thank you

  • Good Lord. I have seen this 3 times in the span of two semesters. Once in LAN class, once in router programming, and once in server administration. I think this is slowly becoming the "Red Asphalt" of the Tcom industry, in that it's an initiation of sorts. It's so corny and old it's painful. That said, despite its oldness, it's still mostly relevant and illustrates TCP/IP pretty well, if not greatly simplified. I still laugh at the pinball paddle switch thing. Cheers!

  • Its actually interesting!

  • my lecturer is making us watch this now.....*dies of boredom*

  • I`m too lazy to teach this today, so I`m going to show this video to my students instead :3

  • graet teaching tool:).

  • Someone has a lot of imagination here

  • general view.. too general..

  • ohhh, noooo. They killed the ping of death!!! Why, oh whyyyy ? :(

  • OMG NETSCAPE! This is old.

  • and it took ~11:36 to do all that and load it... that's a pretty damn slow computer and internet connection there!

  • 25 dumb blondes accidentaly stumbled across this video...

  • we will have our quiz on this movie ..

  • "Watch this mom" Hahahahaha

  • I have 2 questions.

Why this vid said IP does retranmission? and Where the hell link layer goes?

  • @sppopck Read the OSI Model buddy it explains it all.

  • lol this is our assignment. assignment to watch the video then make a reaction

  • Great piece of work Thanks alot

  • 23 pings of death disliked this video =)

  • tnx !!!

  • Those 23 dislikes must be computers

  • had to watch this for school too

  • lol BITCHY ICT teacher sent me here!!!!!!

  • I had to watch this for a university class, all I can say is:

    Fuck.This.Shit.

[I know y'all ride with me when I say that]

  • @korzym A university student writes "y'all"? Never thought I'd see the day. Be more eloquent, will you? I am a fellow university student, but I learned from day 1 at English class to not write atrociously like you do.

  • @0x28 blow me nerd

  • @korzym We all know who's going to fail his classes. In fact, I already know that you're failing your classes. Lay off the booze. ;)

  • ME 3:D LOL!!!

  • YOU HAVE SERVED YOUR MASTER WELL

  • Ha, we watched this last year in my A+, and today I reminded my teacher about it... so hopefully we will watch it tomorrow xD

  • Comment removed

  • Okz

  • the guy's voice is mmm mmm mmmm good. I wanna bang

  • i feel like this could be an instructional video on how babies are made...

  • No wonder my internet is so slow. Ive got all those trucks driving towards my router really slow. lol.

  • This video is great. It's interesting and it also does an excellent job of teaching us about what happens when we click an internet link.

  • Is this outdated? How?

  • It sort of reminded me of a "miracle of childbirth" video back in sex ed class!

  • great video, simply and fun

  • LOL at 10:09

  • I mean, look at the browser in the vid, an older version of Netscape. Classic.

  • This is great for showing people the basics of how data travels across the net. The premise is still pretty much the same. Saw this back in 1999, or late 98. I forget exactly. Great video.

  • Ooooo, your hard! Idiot.

  • @theprophetlazarus Y dont you stop posting junk like this, at least this person was nice enough to take the time out of their day to make this

  • @mms1911 Hmm, at first I was going to comment on why the hell you dug up an 11 month old comment then I realised it had been +thumbs'd. You've got this all wrong dude. I wasn't lecturing the person who made this video on spelling, I was telling someone who was trolling the video calling it "Waste of 3 minutes of my life." Unfortunately 11 months ago Youtube didn't use @Username so you had to read who the comment followed to get it. Please check before you comment next time.
