  • Mike Reid, All American Football player at Penn State and winner of the Outland Trophy as the best defensive player in the US, wrote this beautiful song.

  • Phil seems stoned! ("circling round the ethos" doesn't help to dispel that thought!) Maybe it was the meds or jet-lag, but he ain't right during this interview!

  • That is a great song! There are songs out there...few and far between compared to 15, 20 years ago (in my opinion) where you simply saw a video..and it immediately strikes you as mind-blowing, pure genius. He's talking about Hornsby, It makes me think of "End of the Innocence" by Henley. When I first heard that...wow! Always been a big fan of Phil's solo albums / Genesis. "Abacab" comes to mind, One solo song by Phil always hit me as amazing. 2nd solo album "If Leaving Me Is Easy" - GREAT song!

  • great video

  • Great!

  • Wow! I remember hearing it for the first time. Had to stop all functioning and just take it in. Geeze how deeply precise that one went. Thanks Mr. Phil for your thoughts.

  • This is what makes an artist like this so superior at what he does...there's a lifetime's work of brilliant lyrics and music that he's done, and yet he's not above acknowledging other great work. The way he feels about Bonnie Raitt's song is the same way I feel about his "In The Air Tonight"...one play is never enough. He is GREAT!!!

  • The song was written by Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin.

  • Did he write "I can't make you love me?"

  • @jwgreek8606 no - he was discussing how much he loves the song.

  • Phil, you're great!!!!
