This band is one of the greats of music period. The defined a whole Genera of their own. There are other techno bands and Minimalists but this is a cut above both. Their music is like Dali Art for the ears! There is such a psychedelic quality to their music as well. For them to also perform their music live EXACTLY like they do in the Studio means they are more than just musicians with a quirky sound, they are real honest to god Musicians. Music like this transcends generations! HECK YEAH!

@quaxk I agree that the way they play Radioactivity nowadays has wrecked and distorted it beyond any of its original feelings and atmopshere. I get the band doesn't like radioactivity, but putting a big STOP on the screen kills all the subtlety of the original song. It also kills the even pacing and sounds completely out of place.

And FYI, the way the visuals and music sync = they had/have a lot of direct influence on that. I'm not sure about all the in's and out's of how much input they have, but I know some interviews/documentaries speak about them choosing to change the visuals up, even show to show.

So, if they "do nothing except playing" and produce this kind of art, more power to 'em... ;-P

Anyone there with even the remotest knowledge of music history appreciated that they witnessed something very special.

As a nipper I bought the Autobahn album and the music still sounds like something for the future.

OMD did a sweet version of Neon Lights on Sugar Tax in ´91 but yeah juniorgman ALL the performances here are epic!

I used to consider retro techno oxymoronic because there were so many electronic bands in the eighties I normally ignored Kraftwerk. But now I´ve changed my mind because these guys are the masters of it! Full on.
