I don't think I could get the RFID tag implanted, but awesome job man. And for those who are wearing their tinfoil hats, these tags have a set key that is no way tied to any information like your bank numbers and credit cards. The only use it has is in this system (or whatever RFID system the author chooses to utilize personally).

Can you make the RFID reader higher powered so the login is proximity based, say 3 within 3 feet and when you leave that area it auto locks the workstation?

It could be done with high frequency active rfid tags (which are not implantable), but usually have higher range.

As far as RFID goes, that is the best solution I've come up with. However I've seen usb dongles that can lock your computer when you leave the vicinity (you have to carry a transponder in your keychain or pocket, etc.)
